Screen is dirty. Cant get it clean. Ran about 200 negatives through it. Did exactly what the instructions recommended for care. BOOOOOO!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have thousands of old photos and slides that I wanted to preserve on CD so that I could share them with my family. My wife and I have been married for 53 years and many of the old photos have degraded. I have a rare photo that was taken of a settlers cabin in Nebraska. I did not even know the photo was color until I processed it through my scanner. I have only made a small dent in what I hope to complete, but I am confident my scanner will hold up to the jov I have to do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far it doesn't work

Just bought this. Installing went great I thought it was going smoothly. Seems to scan on the flat bed but errors on the transparency scanner - which is the only reason I bought it - to scan transparencies.
Using it on a Mac. Also the software for the scanner is 32bit an will be obsolete in the next Mac OS.

Continuing a tradition

I bought the V600 to replace an aging V550. Although the 550 stll works well, I'm embarking on a massive project and worried I would potentially have issues. This is my 5th or 6th Epson scanner. I like how they work and their reliability.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this in April but unfortunately have not used it as much as hoped due to illness however, what I have seen is exciting. I scanned a film negative of a photo that turned out to be my mom when she was about 25 years old holding my sister. So special as both are deceased now. I am so looking forward to restoring old family photos.

On the V600 scanner

The scanner works well enough but the software is not very good nor easy. It took a while to discover and locate and use the OCR function. Saving a scan is too complicated, and printing the scan is also not simple.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still to early to write a complete review, but the scanning software is primitive. Crops negatives and pictures whether you want it or not.
Documentation is minimal.
