Received scanner yesterday and started scanning immediately. I have extensive body of medium format negatives and transparencies that I needed to convert. The machine worked perfect. I was impressed with the speed and resolution options at the click of the mouse. My images are beautiful, some are better than the originals. I used other scanners in the past, but this one does a great job. If there is a negative, it would be the film holder is a little frail and could be damaged with out much effort. I hope Epson allows for replacements.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does not work with new Macs

I bought this for a time sensitive product. Difficult to set up, only to find out it doesn't work with the newer Mac operating systems. Very frustrating. I bought adapters to get the ports to work then find out it won't work with my computer

I scanned a family photo from 1936 which had some scratches on it. Couldn't believe the difference after scanning using the restore color and Digital ICE feature! Other than that I have not tried any other features, but was very impressed with how easy it was to get a great reproduction of this family treasure!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

My first try with Epson.. What do I get.. DOA right out of the box. You pay this much for a scanner you would think I might at least power up. Yes everything is connected right.. Yes there is power to the plug..

Frustrated

I purchased the Epson V600 directly from Epson due to the wonderful reviews I have read. However, I have had my scanner for 5 days now and have spent an average of 4 hours an evening trying to get it to work. I keep having program errors and due to my work schedule, I have not been able to contact customer service due to their limited hours of availability. So, as to my experience with the product, I can not give it a respectable rating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Scanner wont scan

I have tried all the suggested solutions for this and still i get a message "EPSON Scan has stopped working". I just purchased this less than two weeks ago and so frustrated. It was working fine then for no apparent reason it now wont. Uninstalled software and reinstalled following exact the directions for initial setup and still get same message. I would have rated this high if it had continued to work. I am very happy with the photos and negatives I did get scanned.

I want to hold my review until I can make this product work. I set it all up last night , downloaded and installed the cd, following it just like it said. I was excited! I put a test paper in to scan...and it did great. I put a photo in to scan, and ......nothing, again, nothing. It wont even turn on to scan. I am going to try to uninstall and then ...re-install an see if that helps. If not ...I will try to call you for some help. You will not want this to be out on the web just yet...so I hope you catch it first. I will be most happy to review again when I can get it to work. Thanks

Performance on iMac

The DVD said it was from Japan. I bought it at Apple on line, delivered today, with my expectation that it would make my family history work faster and easier than the equipment I have now. It is the same kind of issue the old Windows products had before Steve Jobs made computer life a joy. It is just too much hassle for the money. Very poorly documented and the won't even allow the Guide Book to be downloaded or burnt to a DVD to examine more closely. I'd say it was my computer's fault but I have old DOS computers stashed in our hone commuter "grave yard." The attraction is the pixel count sound fantastic. but getting it to recognize itself is not going to be my job. I have too much to do to pay for someone else's fun with bugs.
