Sorry I bought this machine.

Im on my second espresso machine. It to is a failure. The knob that turns the machine on seems to keep breaking which in the end means you can't get it on. The first one I thought well this is a fluke but the second one did the same thing. Come on Mr Coffee this WOULD be a great machine but the knob you turn it on with is a complete failure. This happened on BOTH machines. I'm returning the second one and getting my money back and WON"T be buying another one or recommending Mr Coffee. I love espresso's and drink them daily to bad this machine is not working out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have bought 2 of these machines in the last year. Oene lasted 6 months before stopping brewing. The second one leaked from the start. Won't buy another.

Tough little machine

So i was in south florida on a disaster relief crew and one of my cuban co workers brought me a cup of café cubano. Aka pure cafine with a strong espresso flavor and a thick foam. Guranteed to keep you up for 48+ hours. After doing some research i found that this mr.coffee machine is ideal for making small batches of cuban coffee. I have used this machine for over a year on the job site and the only thing that has broken is the cup where the brewed espresso ends up. It has withstood drops from the bed of my truck, being left out in the rain (on accident), and literally hundreds of pots of espresso. The trick to keeping the machine working is to use distilled water. I used aquafina water in it when in florida and i made 5 batches a week for 4-5 months without ever having to clean it and without it slowing down. The other secret to making a good coffee is to use café bustello pre ground espresso and to never make 2 shots. This machine is a 4 shot machine only, unless you like watery espresso. It cannot properly pack down just two shots worth of grounds. The only downsides i have with this machine is the cord is too short, thankfully we always had extension cords on hand.

Best steam espresso-cappuccino maker we have used

We have owned several steam driven espresso machines from different manufacturers over the past 30 years. All the machines appear pretty much the same, so there is not a lot of features that differentiates them. The two things that make this machine superior to other steam driven espresso/cappuccino machines in our minds are the power light and the steam generation. It is easy to forget to turn off the machine and having a very bright power light is a plus for this machine. The quality of the foam we can generate with this machine is also superior to other machines we have had. We don't use the black plastic 'foam helper' and are able to produce thick foam that lasts a long time. The length of the steam tube is a bit shorter than with other machines so we froth milk in a coffee mug...an added step. However, the quality of the foam outweighs any negative from the length of the steam tube. Overall, this is probably the best one we have ever used.

Just under two months ago I bought this and it failed to make coffee today.
It will steam, but not make coffee.
