I purchased this expresso maker a few months ago and it works just fine. the end product is as good as the high priced European makers. I recommend it if you are looking for a good cup of expresso from a machine that doesn't empty your pocketbook.

Espresso maker exploded in my kitchen

Used it for 4 times put it away and brought back out this morning and then I heard a pop and the espresso machine exploded coffee grounds all over the place
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have had 2 years - no real issues

We use this little machine every day at the office for almost two years. Then our coffee filter for the unit disappeared and I had to order two replacements. Makes a great cup of expresso! I do not enjoy my wife's coffee anymore, because it is too weak. I never use the milk frother, so cannot attest to this.

Just bought this and doesn’t work. Just spews steam into the air even though turn knob is as tight as can be. Won’t even froth. Cheap plastic...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great espresso maker for the price

I bought my Mr. Coffee espresso maker three and a half years ago. Tonight while steaming the milk, the frother attachment fell apart. For the money, you cannot beat the price. Even if it only lasted a year, that is so much cheaper than going to your local coffee shop.
One reason I think the espresso maker lasted so long is by using bottled water intead of tap water.
