Cleaning it with water by brewing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my bridal shower as a gift. I am very disappointed when I decided to let it run on a few cycle to brew to clean out the espresso before making anything. I found in the water of little metal peices still after 8 cycles. This is beyond very disappointing b/c I was very excited to put it into use. Imagine people who had consumed those metal peices.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than coffeehouse

We've been using this specific model for years, in combination with Caribou Coffee. I've got a formula down that makes exceptional coffee. We've tried different kinds of coffee makers, more expensive, even other Mr. Coffee espresso makers, and only THIS one makes the exceptional coffee. It's a little limiting in that it has to cool down between brews, but we resolve that by having another on hand if we need to make more, soon. Love the results with this very reasonably priced espresso maker.

Steamer not working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this from a friend who had used it a few times and then gave it to me. The espresso brewer works fine and has been useful, however the steam attachment does not produce steam. Instead, burning hot steam leaks from the screw cap, which is very dangerous. It leaks on the steam function and on the brew function.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not so great.

This is my second Mr. Coffee espresso maker. I'd been really happy with the first, but the steam/brew handle broke off, so I purchased what I thought was same model. This one is somewhat of a failure - the steam jet is so intense that it blows the milk out of the steamer, or creates an eruption of huge bubbles, not the nice dense foam that the first machine produced. I've figured out how to manage this by opening the steam/brew dial only part way, and am able to control the pressure in that manner. Not great.

My Mode ECM270 just broke

I just read other reviews where customers had the exact same problem. I have used Mr. Coffee Espresso machines for over 25 years with great results.....until now. I'm disappointed in what I always thought was a tried and true brand.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She has complained about it the few times she tried it, and now it totally doesn't work. Obviously was rotten from the get go and I should have returned it.

Love this machine

I had it years ago and the cup broke, we moved and got gifts/tried other machines for different types (coffee, latte) all by mr coffee. It is great value for money. Love this machine! Just need cheaper And easily available replacement parts. (Quality is good...I broke the cup and now with my new one, I’ve lost my metal filter).
I would recommend this to a friend!
