Replaced a dying ECM260 with this model last week. Totally disappointed! I've gone from tepid coffee to muddy water. This model is simply too hot. The steamer is so strong that it makes a mess and scalds the milk, instead of simply aerating. Also, the stem is so short that only half of my cup can fit under it.
Then comes the coffee - yuk! The boiling steam blasts through the dispenser with enough force to push particulates through the sieve into the cup, which appears similar to mud.
I'll try unplugging the unit to get the temperature under control once it builds up steam... until I find a more suitable brand. Having wasted money twice on Mr Coffee, I should have invested in a better maker to begin with. You gets what you pays for.

As this was my first time experiencing espresso at home and am not a regular coffee/ espresso drinker, I found this product to be very easy to use. Upon first glance of the product, it is a lot smaller than I expected, but fits well in my kitchen and is great for my small household. I have been using this product almost daily and find it fits all of my needs that it claims too. Not only is it easy to use, but very easy to clean and maintain as well. My own critique of this product is that I wish the milk steamer piece was a bit longer. Sometimes it can be difficult to use. Overall, my impression regarding this product is high and I recommend it. Note: I did receive this product as a sample to test.

HORRIBLE!

I purchased the ECM-160 Mr. Coffee machine on 12/29/2014. I found the knobs extremely hard to turn as there is nothing to grip. While steaming my milk, it started to bubble over but I could not turn the knob to turn off the steam…so my hand got burnt! I called Mr. Coffee on January 17th to explain the situation. I was told to return the machine to them and I would be sent a replacement. I was very adamant when I said that I did not want another machine like that one due to the difficult knobs. I was then offered (after the lady spoke to a supervisor) a “better” machine. Much to my dismay, they sent me the ECM-260 model. This is EXACTLY the same machine with just a few cosmetic differences. So, I called the company again and asked for a supervisor. After explaining my situation to Brenda, I was given a lot of “I’m sorry”. When asked why I wasn’t offered a different model such as the ECM20-23NP which has gripper bumps or the BVMC-EL1 that steams the milk while brewing, I was told “due to the difference in price point”. After a lengthy conversation as to why she sent me the same type of machine and telling me that I had to return the original one back to the Company (instead of back to Target), she said I could return both machines and they would gladly refund me in 10 to 12 weeks!!!
Fact, if I was given the option, I would have GLADLY spent up in order to prevent further burns. I also took the time to look at all the reviews and found out that I was not the only one who complained about the difficulty turning the knobs. I returned the original machine to Target (they were more than happy to take it back) and purchased the De’Longhi EC220CD espresso maker from Macy’s. By FAR a better machine and well worth the “difference in price point”.
Bottom line, I think the Mr. Coffee staff could exercise better customer service by #1 listening to the customer’s concerns and requests and #2 by giving all options instead of making assumptions and being cheap. I WILL NEVER BY A MR. COFFEE PRODUCT AGAIN.

Missing Important Part

I receive the Expresso Cappuccino Maker as a gift. Couldn't wait to use and then found out it didn't come with the metal cup for the frothing. I have searched several stores and cannot find one. I also went to your website and don't see it. Because of the cup needing to be chilled and then heated what do I use? So disappointed.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It is understandable that not having a frothing cup come with your espresso maker might be frustrating. Since Mr. Coffee does not manufacture or distribute this accessory currently, you may wish to purchase one at your favorite kitchen or home appliance retailer. For optimal results, we advise using a stainless steel pitcher for frothing. We hope you will be enjoying your first cup of homemade cappuccino soon.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're sorry to hear about this. If your espresso maker is not frothing, please check the following:
- Ensure the Froth Control Knob is turned to the Cappuccino or Latte setting. - Ensure there is milk in the milk reservoir. - Ensure the Frothed Milk Dispensing Tube is cleaned and aimed toward the center of your cup. - Ensure that the milk reservoir is fully locked into place.

Disappointed

I bought this machine less than a month ago for afternoon coffee at the office. We had this model years ago and we got a lot of use out of it. This one did not compare. Steam kept escaping through the coffee handle. They sell every kind of replacement part but gaskets, which have also been an issue in the past.
