Great Little Machine

I bought this as a gift for my wife and she loves it. The photo quality is great and it's easy to use. One caution though, don't put the paper in upside down. It takes forever to get things clean so it prints correctly again. Also it would be nice if you could buy the ink locally.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The printed photos are wonderful! I love being able to print at home instead of having to go to a store to print. Locating the cartridge/photo pack is another thing however......went to 4 stores today before we were able to get them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It was a big mistake that I purchased this printer. It is useless. It's not easy as it sound. They always make it sound so easy.

Not as good as previous versions

I have been an avid Epson Picturemate fan since receiving my first one six years ago. Since that time I have gone through a total of three printers.. The Charm is definitely the least liked printer out of all three versions I have had.
First and foremost, you CANNOT use a usb flashdrive with the printer. I have always been able to use a flash drive and just plug and print but now I have to either use the memory card out of the camera or hook it up directly to my computer each time. Not very convenient.
Secondly, Epson has removed several of the picture layout options. You have four options for printing. I like to be able to print 3" x 4" sized photos and now I have to manually manipulate it on the computer rather than being able to select that option.
I will give the printer great reviews for speed and quality of prints. This is one thing I know for sure I can recommend if you want great quality prints, just not if you want real easy convenience like the previous models.

Best Picture Quality odf any small printer

I bought this printer a couple of years ago as a gift, still in use and the picture quality is still as crisp as it was when the printer was new. Everyone is amazed at the quality of the pictures, easily beating all your local photo shops. Highly recommended, you will never need another printer as long as your photo size requirements do not change. My only complaints are that sometimes the replacement cartridges do not last as long as the cover on the box claims and the printer refuses to print when the cartridge seem to be exhausted, although it looks like there are two or three more printings left in it. I just would like to see the last picture quality diminished to convince myself the cartridge is gone.

Using original ink cartridge @AJ

The original ink cartridge needs to be used on all new printers because of the chip that initializes the printer to start the use of ink. Once initialized you know you can use any Epson cartridge made for that printer model.

This is my third Epson PictureMate. Have worn out both before this one with heavy duty photo printing and still like this printer for convenience - do it at home - and quality. Each has had its own pluses and minuses. The latest - the Charm - has its pluses - (1) will store and print more than 999 pictures - (before you could print up to the 999 off the card and then had to use your computer to do the rest) and (2) retains the date stamp throughout each time the printer is turned on (instead of having to reprogram with each grouping of pictures). However, a very big minus - no zoom and crop! I used that feature so much and miss it on the new model.
