What's great about it: good picture at a great price
I bought one of these last Christmas for my son to use with his new XBOX. I was so happy with the picture, I purchased a second one for my daughters room. I wish it had a 3rd HDMI port; but for $399 I'm not going to complain.

What's great about it: Excellent picture and clear precise sound
I love this plasma TV. The picture has excellent quality and with my Blue Ray you get an awesome picture. The sound is so clear, you don't have to turn it up to high to hear it. I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a great 42".

I bought this TV about 1 year ago and then suddenly the screen started to turn black while i was watching TV. I would simply turn it off/on and everything would go back to normal. Now it does not want to turn back on. It was a great price, but now what???

Overall a great TV which can be made better by reading owner forums online. The picture is amazing and is in actuality a Samsung with an Insignia label. Great for gaming.

What's great about it: Good picture. Many options including surround sound. Light weight.
What's not so great: Plasma characteristic of glare on screen. Not easy to connect with dvd/vcr combo player.
My kids won this television in a raffle so what's not to love. The picture quality is very good-we compared it to other units in this price range and found it to be one of the best. The flexibility you have in changing the modes for different situations is a plus. The surround sound is nice too. Going green is good but we would like to have gotten an owners manual with the tv. We have a dvd/vcr combo and had difficulty hooking it up so that the vcr would play. An owners manual would have helped. The only negative is the fact that plasma screens are reflective and at times we get a glare on the screen.

We bought this for our bedroom. The picture and colors are so awesome. We really enjoy this TV. It was very easy to add our cable box and our blue ray player to. I would recommend this TV. We also got this TV for an great price. The sound quality is very good too!

This was a great deal for $399.00. Very easy to setup and use. The picture is great and the sound was better than I expected. One con with this item, it is very heavy. The panel is glass. It was very adventurous getting it home, but when I did, I was very happy.

It's a rather nice TV, but fairly standard. Doesn't seem to have many bells and whistles. But it's a decent price for decent quality, but it won't amaze you.

What's not so great: Need the CC turned on--greyed out and not given the option
The only complaint I have about this TV is the CC ability, I am hearing impaired and really need my subtitles and have not been able to turn them on, however everything else I love!

The sound is lacking some but for the money I love the quality of this tv, I went out and bought a second one for my bedroom because of the picture. I have purchased a tv for more money and these have turned out to be my favorite.

I bought this for our bedroom tv. It has a great picture and the sound is unbelievable for tv of this size. It's got good bass for a thin tv and it can go very loud and still sound great (playing music on it).Only problem I have with the tv is when programed into a directv remote you have to put the remote in tv mode and use the power button to shut it down or turn on the tv. Instead of just using the on & off button in direct tv mode. Got it a a good price it has just basic features but that's all I needed for the bedroom. I would recommend this tv good product.

I bought this TV on Black Friday 2010. This was my first HD TV, and I mainly bought it because of the great deal that day. This TV was very easy to set up, and from the get go I notice the picture quality was pretty good since I only had digital DTV. After 10-months my picture went out, but after calling Best Buy, I had a New In-The-Box TV within a couple of days. And everything was fine. I just recently got HDTV and WOW is the Picture Great. The only issues are very few connections and sound. But with my Sound Bar took care of the sound and NetFix/VOD took care of not needing many devices to be connected. After buying this Insignia, I have bought other Insignia products, including a Sound Bar, and 2-Small stereos.

After a lot of research on whether to buy Plasma, LCD or LED and which brand to choose this turned out to be a great decision so far. The set up was flawless and contrary to some comments the sound is plenty for our large room. Price the best we could find, and two year warranty was a clincher. Had to learn how to zoom to eliminate black bars on some stations, but Best Buy store was very helpful and even offered to download the owner's manual which would have been better included in the box. Screen glare same as other TVs, but pulling blinds and changing lighting cures everything. Picture is clear and better quality than the LCD or LED. No problem hooking up my wireless earphones with the audio out jack or plugging in the VCR or DVD players. Will write another review after a year or so, but so far so good.

I use this television in my bedroom, which is rather large for a bedroom, but the picture and sound quality is superb! HD TV is excellent on this set. I have Apple TV, Directv and cable tv attached to the set and all give excellent picture! Deep colors and great viewing angles. This is my first Plasma but I am glad I choose it!
