Gas valves worked for 4 uses first two weeks. Finally received replacement which also didn't work. After 4 weeks of back and forth the 3rd gas valve assembly works.

My biggest complaint about this is that the Grill plates move around. They do not fit the grill correctly.

Rusted beyond repair in about 2 years. Hauled it out to the curb. Garbage.

I have had this unit for 2 plus years. Cook on it 5 or 6 times a week. Love the unit, big enough to handle anything I've decided to cook, yet also will handle the small items.

Great Grill for a Great Price

I bought true infrared for my company and thought I really would like it. I do...for very high quality of meat or dumping cut veggies right on the sheet grating. You put on hamburger, chicken wings or brats and it smokes way too much...like mosquito fogging. Oily burned residue on chicken is unattractive and does not taste good. The best thing though is cooking stuff that likes to be seared... for that the tru infared was great. A lot of cleaning maintenance on the infrared too however. (You all at Charbroil should design grills 1/4 tru infrared and 3/4 standard. Very beneficial.
But alas I cook everything I can on my grill. Enter this grill. I had my eyes on the brinkman with the side sear and was about ready to purchase one in a few weeks. Then my wonderful inlaws showed up bearing this gift in the back of their truck. I was disappointed cause I am a guy and knows what he wants. But I was all smiles and grateful. As I began to put the grill together I became more happy about the way it was designed. When I saw the cast iron grates I was very happy. Then I found the sear burner and I was it became What Brinkman? I always wanted this Charbroil 7 burner (I like to "brag" to my Dad and Brother cause I include the side burner. They have a tru infrared (bro) and an all stainless sun beam beast with round stainless gratings...everything falls through).
The first few times you use it be very watchful. I burned a lot of stuff because there are hot spots mainly in the back row. My experience every grill cept the real pricey ones and the tru infrared tend to have hot spots. I think that is why I like to grill so much. I get to know my grill and the special tricks possible. I have cleaned the grease tray and scraped off some paint when I got too aggressive. But that is to be expected. But once the paint goes then stuff will rust. Just maintain the grill like you would your other things you enjoy. Paint when you see rust, clean the dang thing, and who cares if the igniter goes bad one day. It is a AA battery with an electrode. It is not a platinum spark plug. And this grill gets HOT now with all the burners. Fire it up, wait a few, toss on what you are cooking, shut the un-needed burners off if cooking for a few to conserve the gas.
FYI I grill almost every night for a family of 5 and weekend mornings and evenings. I am one of those guys who everybody wants to grill for them at their big parties. Not bragging cause I am my biggest critic but I just love to grill (instead of doing the dishes!) so I got a lot of experience.
