This is truly an amazing product. I stumbled across it when looking for an oil-less turkey fryer. This is the larger version of the oil-less turkey fryer, but it does a LOT more. First, it has a hinged (perfectly vented) lid to retain the heat and smoke in it. It comes with a round stainless steel cooking grid (grill) to do steaks, chops, etc. The basket under the grid is for frying or smoking large meats, such as turkeys or chickens, or pork roasts. It also has an onboard smoker box for wood chips, which puts the a lot of smoke flavor into the meat, better than any other grill that I have owned. There are also lots of accessories available for hanging ribs, shis-ka-bobs, and chicken wings and legs. It cooks everything well, because it uses infra-red style heat. The circular burner is outside of the cooking cavity, so you can't get any flare-ups at all, and since it is round, everything cooks even on all sides at once, without the need for turning. Since it cooks fast, the outside is seared, while the inside of the meat is very juicy. It the best smoker, roaster, grill that I have ever used! The only thing they left off was a temperature gauge, which I thing they did on purpose, because it doesn't matter what the temp is inside the grill, but rather what the internal temp of the meat that you are cooking is. I use an instant read meat thermometer. I can't believe that Char-Broil has not aggressively promoted and marketed this product better. It is a truly unique cooking experience with great smoked taste, and there is no other one like it on the market!

The Char - Broil Roaster, Griller, Smoker is a great addition to my outdoor cooking experience. We love using it for cooking top rounds, ribs, wings and even a 25 # turkey. It cooks everything faster than my oven.

I love cooking out and use this almost 3-4 times a week, as a regular grill, but the smoker is the best. I have spent 31 years in the restaurant business, and have been associated with many BBQ cook-offs, bar far this is the easiest, way to smoke and roast. The best compliment I can give it cam from my 19 year old (finicky) step son, that I did a full turkey on memorial day, with a dry rub and then homemade BBQ sauce. "This is beyond restaurant quality" It made me laugh. The system is fool proof.
