GE oven/range

I purchased the GE to replace my old Kitchen Aid that stopped working and no parts were available. In comparison, The GE is significantly quieter essentially silent in comparison. The negatives are the cook top on my old one had an enamel/porcelain surface that was easy to clean. the timer was easier to use and counted down seconds . The storage drawer was deeper and the old one had a back splash. The bottom line is this was the only one available in white that fit our application out of all of the manufacturers available. If you want stainless you have a large selection but more maintenance keeping it looking clean.

Wonderful Stove

I have had this range for a year now. I had always wanted a gas stove but had a wonderful Jennaire that was in our home when we purchased it in 1993. I had babied my stove for several years because I hated to let it go. Finally realized it needed to be replaced. I decided to replace it with a gas range and spent several months researching them before buying this one. I loved it from the first time I used it. I will never go back to an electric if given the choice. I didn't need a professional model but wanted certain features that this one had. I really like that the knobs are on an angle making it hard for my grandchildren to reach. I would highly recommend this range for anyone wanting a nice gas range at a good price.

Does what it's suppose to

Our new slide in convection range works well. The burners are easy to clean, the oven temperature is right within one degree of it's setting, generally good all around.
I do have a couple complaints.
First, the front burners are a reversed pattern compared to our previous model, meaning the large extra hot High Temp burner is on the left and the smaller large burner is on the right. The older configuration was far better as the right side of our stove is our main prep and staging area. The left side of our stove is only 16½" wide, then the refrigerator is next to that so you have to move large cooking vessels all the way over to the right for serving. Not convenient.
Second, our old GE range had a large oval center 5th burner, great for a griddle for pancakes or other long items, plus it came with the ; griddle for the oval burner. The center 5th burner on our slide in is just another small round burner. Yeah...ok, not nearly as useful.
Third, I really wanted a 'Dual Fuel' stove as I love gas for the top but find and electric oven tends to be much more stable. Again, GE as most manufacturers chose to make a Dual Fuel range only in Stainless Steel and as my wife insisted on white to match our other already fairly new appliances, attempting to negotiate for a stainless range was not going to happen. So all in all, I had to 'settle' for all gas.
I have also come to find that the forward mounted display panel which pretty much points toward the ceiling is quite inconvenient for checking time and cooking situations, hence, instead of a quick glance from several feet away to see the time or temperature or other information, you have to walk over to the stove and look at it. Again, this is not very convenient.
So, to answer your questions, as much as I love the cooking qualities of our new range, I could be happier with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really good buy

This gas range is everything I wanted and then some... the 5th burner that I put a cast iron griddle on, to the convection oven that I haven't figured out yet, and the one high heat burner that boils water quickly. The grates are really solid, and the way the burners are inset, makes spills stay where they are and easy to clean up.
