Nice Gas Stove

I bought this as part of a group for a new kitchen, and I was most excited about this unit! It is a beautiful stove. It has 5 burners, one being allocated for quick boil. It does go a lot faster, and I use it often. It is pretty easy to clean, if you remove the 2 racks, it is easy to get in there to make it look good again. The oven part seems to cook a little hotter than you set it for, but does cook evenly throughout. I tend to go about 10-15 degrees lower than the recipe calls for in order to accommodate the extra heat. It is easy to use, has lots of space, and works great. It also has little edges that prevent food from falling between the stove and the counters/cabinets. I would definitely recommend this one!

GE slate-stainless steel range review

I have used this stove for less than 3 months and love the features. Easy stove top clean up with the black enamel, and oven heats up pretty quickly. I have only found that I'm unhappy with is the slate finish it is hard to clean and scratches easily. The finish leaves a residual cleanup marks on the surface even if I use stainless steel wipes or if I just use warm water.

Did not fit in 30 inch opening, it was actually 30 1/8 inches wide
It had 4 different colors of brown
Grates were very rough and scraped red enamel off our pans

I bought this appliance over a month ago so that I could cook a turkey for thanksgiving. What a wonderful gift to myself! The burners were spaced so well for large and small pans. The fifth burner was incredibly useful. I love this stove!

Pots sit to high and far away from the flame.

Convection oven works very good.
It takes somewhat of a longer time than what I would consider normal to boil a pot of water on a gas stove. The stoves top grates are very thick. The racks sit quite a bit high from the burners as the bottom of cooking utensils are about one inch above the flame when flame is set on high setting when using the large burner. Obviously the flame tip gets further from the pots and pans as the flame is adjusted downward.
Maybe GE will recall the grates and make them thinner and sit closer to the flame. GE is a good company and I am NOT unhappy for buying this stove.
