No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst mop ever !!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Do not use on any hard wood !! it leaves streaks, and does not mop even all over the pad, if you look at pad after mopping there are lines where the dirt is picked up....but this streaks the floor and does not leave an even streak free mop job....I have tried to make this work and tied it several times and each time; wish I had not spent the money on this bad design. First time I used it, I left it sit on the floor for a few min after I had used it with the steam, and it left a white mark on my wood... I have been more careful since then....I am going to pack it up and see if Walmart will take it back...I am very disappointed in the product....I clean professionally and have always liked the swiffer products.....But this one is a thumbs down

Does the pad you were using have a green strip on it? If so, that would be a pad specifically designed for our Swiffer WetJet. Our Swiffer Bissell Steamboost steampad refills have a gray tub and the chemistry is made to work with steam. If you are using the correct pads, here are some tips for a streak-free floor:
-If your floor is brand new, it may have a special coating to protect during shipping, and this can cause streaking. It can also happen if other cleaning products have been used recently as some do leave a shine effect on it. If this is the case, using the products a few more times should solve the problem.
-Sweep or vacuum the floor first; then use the Swiffer Steamboost. In areas with more dirty or sticky residues on the floor exist, 2 to 3 mopping strokes may be needed to clean the area.
-Don't use this on unfinished, oiled or waxed wooden boards, non-sealed tiles or carpeted floors because they may be water-sensitive.

Not clean...

All it does is push the dirt around. You can steam the food that dries and sticks to the floor, but you still have to get down and wipe it up... Not worth the money!

disappointed

I really liked the way it cleans my kitchen floor but when it dries there are marks all over the linoleum, which is a good brand which never needs waxing. It is like it removed a layer of the finish.. started using The marks stay on the floor until the dirt covers them.
