Crazy fast, compact - perfect for desktop

Amazed at speed. The size is great - fits right on my desktop and matches my TouchSmart 610 perfectly.
Setup could not have been easier... plugged it into my network and BAM, everything was basically automatic.
Very fast, even duplexing. Just a great printer.

Only downside is HP's bloated printer software... Just give us a driver and we'll be happy... :)

Very Nice Printer

Purchased the printer to use in my real estate office. Although the office where I work has multiple printers in our network. I like to have two printers in MY personal office to keep from walking back and forth to the printer stations.
This printer is everything HP say it is. It's super fast, plug and print, no hassles, and so far, no problems. Print is very good, highly readable and just right for contracts, etc.
Highly recommend the printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I think it's a very good printer in terms of performance, but I worry (as does my wife) about the "flimsy" paper exit tray extension. It sticks-out, unprotected, and "invites" accidental breakage.
The quick-start instructions were pretty cryptic and vague, but I was able to figure it out "on my own."

Love two sided printing - saves paper

I had an HP LaserJet 4 printer for at least 25 years. It gave me years of care free service, but finally quit working. But, my new printer is faster and prints on two sides. This saves me paper, and the faster printing speed saves me time.

I did a lot of research on this product before buying it. I knew that I needed it a good duplex laserjet printer for school and this one was highly recommended by Mac users. I haven't really had a chance to use this product much yet because school hasn't started, but from the two times that I did use it I had no problems. The setup was quick and easy. Since I already had installed an HP printer on my MacBook, it quickly found the driver for this printer as soon as I plugged it in. All and all I am a satisfied customer.

Choosing a printer these days with all the options and features is difficult enough and throw in the fact that I have trouble making a decision and you have major stress. However, once I looked at what I needed it to do, price, features, reliability and brand. The HP Laserjet Pro P1606dn Printer was a no brainer. I received it promptly, set-up was a snap, it is quiet to operate and the quality of the print is amazing. The duplex feature is a little confusing and at times annoying, but that could just be the Operator. I still find it easier to print two-sided manually. One major requirement was that it function with both my HP Desktop and my Acer Laptop. It does both beautifully. I highly recommend this printer to anyone who needs a good basic printer for home or small office use. It was the perfect choice for my personal printing needs.

I upgraded from an HP 4M that was a real workhorse. Obviously better with Network capability, two sided copy and speed all being vast improvements.

For the past several years my working printer for text has been the HP Laserjet 1320, a ;printer that I would recommend to anyone. I was working on a set of two XP based computers, but for lots of reasons I had to buy a Windows 7 computer. The problem was that my new computer wouldn't install the 1320 either from the Disk or from the drivers I downloaded from the HP website. And thus I was caught in the Catch 22 of the technical support industry. Microsoft wouldn't help because Windows 7 was an OEM installation on my computer, Toshiba wouldn't help because the printer was a "third party" product and you couldn't help because you don't deal with others' software problems. Everybody invited me to buy help. I bought a printer instead. The 1606dn is comparable to the 1320. Think it's a little flimsier in construction and noisier in operation, But it does what I need, is fast enough for my work and has an automatic duplexer. In the world of wishes, I wish it would handle legal sized paper, but that's my only complaint. Works well.
