Dead out of the box!!

Had to return it. Didn't like the idea it didn't work with Win2000 since our office has these machines

I PURCHASED A P1606dn Printer WHEN IT WAS FIRST OFFERED ON THE MARKET. IT'S RATING WAS HIGH AND THE FEATURES MET MY NEEDS. I HAVE A HOME OFFICE WHICH REQUIRES APPROXIMATLY 500 COPIES PER WEEK. AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF SERVICE THE UNITE MET EVERY THING I CHALLENGED IT WITH. I HAVE NOW PURCHASED A SECOND ONE FOR MY WORK OFFICE EXPECTING THE SAME RESULT.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Supplemental Office Printer

We recently handed out iPads to our office. We got this printer to be able to print from the iPads and to supplement our existing office printer. It works great. Set up is a breeze and the iPads are quick to discover and print to this machine. We have it set up as a stand-alone printer, hooked only to the network and it is plenty fast.
It is a bit noisy, and it would be nice to have wireless networking to allow it to be placed anywhere, but those are the only downsides we've seen so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent Printer

I added this to two other printers in my home office. I use this printer for the larger print jobs I have, like printing out chapters from things I write. I can print from any of my computers on our wireless network. And I can print directly from any of our iPads or iPhones. I haven't used the other advanced options HP offers. I especially like being able to use the automatic duplex printing. Only drawback to me was the initial set up for printing from iOS devices. HP has good support documentation and instructions on the website that solved my problems. I highly recommend this printer. It has every indication of being of the same high quality that I have experienced from every other HP printer I have bought over the last thirty years.

This is the Printer I Have Been Looking For...

for years. It is easy to setup, it is VERY easy to use, and it does not spend an eternity to do its diagnostics before one can use it. Highly recommend as long as black is the only color you need. That is all I need.

The P1606 replaces my Laserjet 1200PCL. It is easier to use, prints both sides of the paper, is faster, has two trays, does not require a door in the back to be opened for "straight through" has a network connection (important for me) and the price is right.
I don't know how it could be improved and hope it will last a long time.
