What's great about it: 1 remote that programs itself and can control ANY & ALL!
What's not so great: Nothing
This remote is an entertainment junkies best friend! I was a little skeptical about buying this remote a such a high price, but the salesman that sold me my 3D TV,Blu Ray 3D Player(PS3), Sound bar,& remote link for the PS3 talked me into it when he showed me that it would be fully compatible with ALL my hardware. When I saw how easy it was to plug this remote into a computer and go to it;s website, search and add each device(easily) ,sync it, and you are ready to go! It does all it says PLUS SOME! It has more features than I will ever be able to figure out how to use, This version can be programmed with up to 5 devices!(Tv',Game Systems,Dvd players, surround sound units, and the list could just KEEP ON GOING!) If you have a small setup, this is the remote for you! I wish I had spent the extra money now and had gotten the remote version that allows up to 12 or 18 devices due to my extensive setup! Final advice,if you want a TRULY,fully functioning universal remote. This is a must have! Count how many devices you have, and buy the remote that fits your needs, you won't regret it! I promise!

A great inexpensive uni-remote. I now have 2 of them in separate rooms, and they both perform flawlessly. I am not unpleased with the battery life either.

What's great about it: customization
What's not so great: it does seem to miss commands but it is easily fixed
We couldn't operate all of our devices with one remote. We explored several options and the Harmony remote best fit our needs. I believe this remote can do MUCH more than we are asking of it. The Harmony does seem to miss some commands occasionally but it is easily fixed using the help feature incorporated into the remote.

What's great about it: Gets rid of multiple remotes and simplifies process
What's not so great: Sometimes you have to press "Help" to get where you need to be
I have had multiple "Harmony" remotes as well as set up many other people with them. they work great, especially for the more technically challenged people who have many remotes sitting on the coffee table.

What's great about it: The simplicity of programming it
What's not so great: None I can think of
It is one of the best remote controllers out on the market for a budget limited individual. I mainly purchased this remote to control my media pc (Yamaha NeoHD), Cable box, TV and a Blueray DVD player. The remote, which came with my NeoHD, is simply not practical since it required for me to run infrared wires to every device. This logitech remote fix the complication with the Yamaha remote. The interactive display is excellent; it even has a help index. The remote control is simple and easy to handle and it supports almost any electronics gadget on the market. One quick advice would be to go to logitech web site and browse through your own list of devices before you decide to purchase a particular remote. It helps a lot, kind of a peace of mind.

the top buttons are not back lit. And these are the first buttons you use. you have to have the lights on to read them and turn every thing on, then get up again to turn the lights back off or dim them. All of the buttons need to be back lit.

Loved my 510 until the volume up button was sticking on me. Got this one home and the mute and previous button were broke. The IR emitter is weak too, must be in line of sight. 300 is the same way. The cheaper Harmony.s are poorly built. Gonna buy a more expensive one.

What's great about it: Set up is easy and exact.
What's not so great: Functions don't always work.
When I switch to play a movie it doesn't change the input of the TV correctly so I need to use the TV remote. Also on my other TV it won't turn off the TV correctly some times. The last thing is that there aren't always comparable buttons from the factory remote to the Logitech. (i.e. Back button & last channel. Everything else seems to work well and consistantly .

What's great about it: Help Feature works great!
What's not so great: Very sensitive to Line of Sight - Not forgiving whatsoever
I previously had a Harmony 550 and I alone could not get it to work completely, but limped along using two remotes to turn on my cable box, my sound system, and my TV.
The 550 finally gave out after about fifteen months. So this time, I went and bought this next version the 650 and the Geek squad set it up - which cost more than the actual remote. The tech set it up and it works, but is just appears to be much more sensitive to line of sight than the previous one I had. The Help function works, so i can get everything back in synch - it just is not an easy process for someone non-technical like my wife.

I've owned a few different universal remotes and Harmony Remotes are the best value for the money. The Harmony 650 is a excellent IR remote that performs as well as their higher priced models. If you have less than five devices and don't require the RF feature, the 650 is more than adequate for most needs.

What's great about it: Easy to set up and works with all my electronics.
Was really easy to set up. It has replaced all of my old remotes. I have all the same functions that I had with my old remotes for my Stereo, TV, DVD, VCR and DirecTv dvr receiver. Plus with the Logitech Harmony 650 remote I now have single button actives that turn on several devices at once, plus a lot more functions to set up.

What's great about it: Fully customizeable behavior for system activities
What's not so great: "Wizard" does not always account for timing; applicaiton UI is not great
This is my 5th Harmony remote. I have 3 in my home and one at my mom's and at my sisters. Amazing how many fewer calls I get that they can't get their system to work! There is no better way to consolidate remotes. Be aware when you purchase that Logitech prices differently depending on how many devices the remote supports. If you have a TV, DVD/BluRay, cable box, and video game -- you are already at 4 units. Also, some units require an extra piece of equipment (e.g., if you want the Harmony to control the PS3, you need a special device for the PS3); and some units count as 2 (e.g. a receiver with an iPod dock will take one unit for the receiver and a 2nd for the iPod dock.)
Desktop application allows you to enter model/serial number for all of your units, then gives you set-up wizards for each activity (Watch TV, Watch DVD, etc.) The Wizards generally get all of the basic steps correct, but I have had to play with the timings (e.g., "power on" for the receiver is immediately followed by source selection for the receiver, but the receiver takes a couple of seconds to get fired up and ready to receive the source selection command; only requires a timing adjustment, which is simple enough, but it is frustrating when it doesn't work right away.)
All in all, there is a reason I've bought 5 of these units -- they work wonderfully, are very durable, and very flexible. Highly recommende.

What's great about it: Programmable online, ease of use, layout
What's not so great: Not a thing
If your looking for a universal remote, look no further. The Harmony remotes are affordable, easy to use and are programmed online to assure that every command in you original remote is copied and available. The set up is great because you tell it what buttons control the volume, channels, etc. and they operate the proper device accordingly. On some models, if something doesn't work as planned, press the "Help" button and it will guide you through the steps to correct the problem, couldn't be easier. Not all models have this feature.
Harmony has several remotes available so get the right one. If you want the "Help" feature (recommended) start with the 650. It uses 2 AA batteries and can operate up to 5 devices and most people don't have that many. The 200 and 300 operates 3 and 4 devices respectively but they don't have the "Help" feature. The 700 operates 6 devices but cost a bit more and is rechargeable (meaning "you need another outlet") . After that comes the touch screen remotes, very cool and operates a lot of devices but if you don't really need to operate 15 devices but gotta have the touch screen, then go for it.
Check prices online and in store to make sure you're getting the best deal, mine was $15 less online, the great part is that Best Buy will price match their website. Kudos to Best Buy for that.
So choose wisely young padawan but choose Harmony.
