Very Good Performing Mircowave

I love everything about this microwave. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the Quality and Ease of use, is do to the button response. It seems as though there is only a small portion of the button that responds when pressed. I frequently find myself having to press a button twice in order for it to respond. Other than that, it cooks like a dream.

Selected this product to match our other new LG appliances and because of the value for the price. Our LG range has a convection oven so we only needed a 'basic' microwave. WRONG! This thing is anything but basic. It is large, powerful, has great features and cooking choices and looks great too. It even has a selection to soften ice cream, cream cheeze and butter. We have learned to LOVE it and use it a whole lot more than we thought we would.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Great microwave, disappointing range hood

I bought this because I needed a ventilation hood that would recirculate into the house with a clean exhaust. Everyone said "I'm perfectly happy with a recirculating hood! This will be fine!" Well, it isn't. Here are my beefs about the hood function:
1. It's noisy, with an irritating high-pitched whine;
2. Smoke and grease from the front burners of the stove go up the front of the microhood and aren't captured at all;
3. Smoke and grease that ARE captured are exhausted out the top of the unit, where they leave greasy marks on the front of the cabinets above. (This microwave, like most, is an inch or two deeper than the surrounding cabinets. Therefore, the top-venting exhaust runs along the face of the cabinet doors above.) I had looked at another combination microwave/hood that vented its exhaust out the front instead of out the top. I wish I'd gone with that one. More to the point, I wish I'd figured out a way to ventilate to the outside world, where I'd wanted to send the exhaust in the first place. And yes, all the filters are in place.

The microwave functions themselves are awesomely good. As another reviewer noted, the keypad can be a bit stiff and the sweet spot for each button is small, but that's only a minor quibble. The programming functions and the power are great. It's neat to be able to microwave on racks. I haven't explored half the possibilities but I can see that this microwave, like my home computer, has a lot of features that I'll love.
So: great microwave, but poor range hood. Given that the range hood was more important to me, I probably wouldn't buy it again. In fairness I'll note that my husband, who is not nearly as fussy about odors and grease as I am, does not share my reservations.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like the features and style, but the design has one shortcoming. The vents are on the top of the microwave, and sent moist air up against the cabinets.

Does the Job.....

We were redoing the kitchen and only use a microwave minimally (baking potatos, heat water for tea, etc) so did not want to invest a lot of money into extra features. This machine, for the price, gets the job done with flying colors and has a lot of features we did not have on our older unit.

This microwave has lots of great features. Especially like the underneath ventilation feature. This microwave looks very up to date and has nice flowing features that match well with my other appliances. The many setting slections are also a geat feature. I would recommend this microwave as it is very easy to use.

Third Time A Charm

The first two had to be replaced due to faulty workmanship, but after the third one was installed it has worked beautifully. LG should behind their product and paid for the reinstall.
