Everything else is great, apart from...

First timer here, and I must say I'm overly satisfied with the product. The only problem encountered was given not enough information to which type of this model that is made for wood / concrete installation ( one I bought - B1 in the instruction stated for wood installation only, where as installation guide downloaded from this site state clearly made for both concrete and wood !, but thanks to our local distributor who can provide the missing part. )
Installation process was not as difficult as it may seem if follow the instruction accordingly.
Very happy with features given, specially the good thing about full-motion is a feature where you can level the position manually if the bracket installed slightly tilt.
Definetely recommend it !

Great TV Mount

The VLF220-B1 is a great full motion TV mount. I bought this mount to use with my 55" Samsung KS8000.
Pros:
*The TV feel very secure.
*Nice adjustability side to side and tilt.
*Lots of room within the footprint to locate in-wall cable management.
*While the instructions were adequate, I found the video tutorials online to actually be more helpful

Cons:
*The provided fasteners were not long enough to secure the mount frame to my TV. The unit comes with 40mm long fasteners. I had to buy 50mm fasteners. I purchased socket cap head fasteners and their heads ended up being too tall in the frame channel in the initial position that I had chosen so I had to move the mount position down one hole to clear some of the other hardware.
*The in-arm cable management channel is too narrow for the Samsung One-Connect cable connector to pass through.

Surprisingly well made

This mounting was selected to wall mount a heavy 55" TV in a wall area with confining dimensions. Preplanning the exact dimensions for the location was critical as only inches were available on all sides. To avoid limiting stud locations, the mount area was built with 2 x 12 boards mounted horizontally and covered with sheetrock to accommodate the bracket. Eight 5/16" X 2-1/2" lag bolts were used instead of the four too long 3-1/2" screws provided. M8 x 20 screws were purchased and used in place of the four sizes furnished, all too long to be used with any of the spacers. The Sanus web site is awesome with more installation material and installation videos than any business I have ever dealt with. Customer service, live agents available by phone, is available seven days a week and very knowledgeable, was used to resolve a height finding issue: the web site height finder tool does not take into account where the bars exactly mount on the rear of the TV set. Without this info, the web tool is useless. Best advice is to reverse install: assemble everything on the floor first, record all of the mounting dimensions, transfer these to the wall, disassemble the mounting and remount on the wall. The installation went perfectly. The printed instructions are by picture with little verbiage. What written directions there are presented in 17 languages per page, therefore the written information by necessity be kept short. The pictures are fairly complete, though, and work well. This is a good company with a strong sense of engineering design and customer service.
Pros: Easy to Use, Durable, Close to Wall, well made, customer service, web site resources
Cons: instructions fuzzy

Best TV Wall Mount!

This is the 3rd Sanus TV wall mount installed, and I am very pleased with the ease of installation, quality/durable construction and ease of use. It is worth every dollar when it is on sale at Future Shop!

VLF-220 Review

The Sanus VLF-220-B3 (I believe the B# is the rev#, only a few minor differences from what is shown on the website). I paid more than what the competitor wall mounts were asking but I wanted a product with all the features and I really wanted it to look good (not just an industrial slab of metal on the wall).
I got home and opened the box, to my surprise there was only 3 major components, the bracket that goes on the wall, the arm, and the bracket that attaches to your tv. Very simple.
I mounted the wall bracket and arm in less than 15mins, including finding the studs. Very simple.
I determined the proper bolt needed to attach the tv bracket and installed that in less than 15mins. I phoned a friend and they helped me lift the tv and slide it onto the arm. Too easy.
The final centering and level adjustments were very easy to do and I was done in minutes. The arm moves just like the video shows (a little bit stiff though).
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the simplicity of the install and the attention to details. The mount is very customizable, it can tilt, rotate and side shift so you can put it where you want it. It was engineered extremely well and I am happy with the outcome.
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Good Quality
Cons: Expensive

Installation went fine

i just received this TV mount and was a liitle concerned about the product and the lag bolts based on prior reviews. So I puchased another pair of 5/16" x 3 1/2" lag bolts as insurance. The mounting plate was installed onto a 2x4 wood framed wall. The pilot holes were drilled with 3/16" bit as the instructions had recommended. The tips of the lag bolts were lightly coated with vegetable oil and tightened with a 1/2" socket wrench. No problem whatsoever. The bolts tightened and nothing snapped.
The rest of the installation went just as well.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: instuctions could be improved.

Seizing Elbow Joint

The VLF220-B3 full motion wall mount I purchased has a very stiff elbow joint (even with the tension ring relaxed) which requires me to put one hand on the elbow joint and the other hand near the TV and struggle to move the elbow joint.
I was sent a replacement arm which I have not installed because I soon found that It kept seizing at the elbow joint so I had to struggle with the replacement too
Cons: Low Quality, Difficult to Use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like it's big brother the VLF320 this mounts exceeds all others by it's ability to work with odd set studs, crooked installs and versatility. The optional , VMA202 speaker mounts installs efficiently and seamlessly adds curb appeal.
Pros: Good Quality, Easy to Use, Meets Expectations
