Frigidaire Microwave

I needed a new microwave so I did a lot research and I decided on a Frigidaire Microwave to match all my other appliances.
It was larger than I thought but bigger is better. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
Overall the price, the style and features.

Too many beeps

This microwave cooks very well. I have no problem with its basic functions. However, there are a couple of serious design flaws.
The biggest is the beeping when the food is done. This thing beeps three times every 10 seconds until you open the door or push STOP. The beeping never stops! Apparently, Frigidaire engineers think that the food in the microwave is THE MOST IMPORTANT item cooking in the kitchen and it demands immediate attention as soon as it's finished cooking. Never mind the fact that a) the microwave shuts off, so it's not like food in an oven that can burn when the timer goes off ; and b) most microwave items/recipes recommend that you let the food sit for 1-5 minutes to finish cooking before you take it out.
Sorry, but this thing will drive you crazy if you have it at home. And I can't imagine how annoying it would be if you bought it for an office!
Also, Frigidaire engineers need to be taught that AM and PM switch at 12 noon and midnight, not 1 am and 1 pm. It took me two weeks of constantly resetting the clock before I finally figured out that it swtiched over to PM at 1 p.m. I was getting 12:15 am at lunchtime for several days!
If these basic flaws weren't there, I'd rate this 5 stars. But the beeping makes me crazy, so I can't.

Way too loud

This microwave is hands down the loudest, most annoying device it could've been. When your food is done cooking, the microwave beeps three times at a volume that is so loud, it will surprise you every time. These beeps will repeat every 10 seconds until you open the door.
Apparently, the food in your microwave is supposed to be the most urgent and important thing going on in your life - and believe me, it's URGENT.
I'd write more about just how much I hate this thing but its beeping and I'd better open the door before I go deaf.

Perfect!

This is all the microwave power you'll ever need! You can cook a whole chicken in this oven. It's the best of its kind, in my opinion, and one of the best gifts I've ever been given :) It's strong, smart and handsome - I shall call it Hercules :)

Great features except for one

I love the reheat feature and the power. But I have to say ditto to the complaints about the three beeps never ending. Couldn't Frigidaire have it do that a couple of times then quit? My only other concern is the door - seems a bit flimsy when I open & shut it, otherwise a very good microwave.

We needed a new microwave. My last one was 26 yrs old and burned up one day. We looked online to review all sizes and types. This one was not an online option. My husband saw this at the store and immediately chose it for my specific wants. It does a great job.

Works like a Champ

I have purchased 6 of these for the lunch room for 300+ employees. I needed something that would heat food quickly but not absolutely make food boiling lava hot. This microwave did the trick.

Loved this microwave but it didn't last

I bought this microwave and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it only lasted 2.5 years. I decided to replace it with the same model and that one was DOA. Frigidare has offered to buy it back for the purchase price which is better than nothing. However I have been without a microwave for a month now and I do not have the funds to replace it until I get the refund. Although I had to pester Frigidare twice to get the paperwork for the buy back, they were always polite and supportive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
