[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had it about a month and so far it is working fine. Trying to get used to having to close door to turn light off. Old Goldstar (18years service) would allow you to turn light off and leave door open. I liked that featsure.

I bought this mw a few weeks ago. The only complaint I have is the colon on the clock continually flashes on and off except when the mw is in use. I think it should be just the opposite. I have unplugged, restarted and reset the clock 3 times with no change. Please advise .

Why I need a new door: I was removing a bowl of food I had reheated, and while removing the bowl, I don't know if the door was closing on its own or I was closing it while also bringing the bowl past the door. I noticed a sliver of glass in the food, so I looked at the interior of the microwave door, and didn't see anything wrong with it. I looked around and couldn't find any other source of the glass sliver. Then I looked at the microwave again. That's when I noticed the edge and front had a sliver of glass missing. Evidently I hit the side of the door with the bowl and it cracked off a sliver of glass.
The microwave is only one to two years old and works perfectly, but I am wanting to get a new door because I am worried the chip may spread or the front may shatter over time. I don't know if either is possible or if I'm worrying for nothing, but I also don't like the idea of disposing of an otherwise perfectly good microwave, either.
There really should be a way to put a new door on. Or, at least, a new front glass.
I suggest the company look at putting a frame around glass fronts so it's not possible for an accidental bump from a bowl/plate/other cooking vessel to chip the glass on the door front/side. I cannot believe I am the first, or only, person who has bumped and chipped the front/side.
We've liked the microwave, but we will be more careful selecting the design of the next microwave purchase - along with the purchase of other kitchen appliances.
The only reason I would not recommend this microwave is because the glass front goes all the way to the edge - no frame or anything to protect the glass if accidentally hit from the side with a dish.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
