Works fine but lamp doesn't come on with door open

I bought the appliance on Friday and set it up on the weekend. Everything works, including the lamp when I set the timed operation. But when I open the door no light! What is up?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just wanted to know about the noise and if it was quite, because I just brought one It is so Noisy I am thinking taking it back. but would like to know it just how it sound it sound like a Plane taking off in my kitchen.

Firstly, things happen. My first purchase of this Model and it just did not want to work. But, Frigidaire made things right, replaced the defective one and the Newer one has not given me one issue to speak of except it's reliability and functionality.
No device is Perfect, but this one meets my needs perfectly. I recommend it for a counter top Microwave.

Cooling fan didn't work right out of the box. Found this is common for this model in reviews after I bought it. Returned to store.
