No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Oh no, Em60175! I can understand your concern with hearing noises from your new freezer. Some noise is normal, and you can compare the noises you are hearing to those normal noises listed on pages 12-13 of the following manual:

Freezer seems great.

There were extra holes for another shelf in the freezer, so I called the parts department and ordered another shelf. It took about a month to get it, but it was worth the wait. I installed it in about ten seconds and now I have everything where I want it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit because we wanted a medium-sized freezer for the two of us. This Frigidaire model came very highly rated, and had all of the features we wanted in a price that wouldn't break the bank.
It didn't take long after installation for the freezer to get down to our desired temperature, so we filled it with food the next day. So far it has been quiet (it's in the basement, but still) and we really like that it seals tightly. There are no worries that we are walking away without fully shutting the door tightly enough, like we've had to worry about with other fridges and freezers.
If you're looking for a freezer to store extra goods for a small family, this is a great choice. I have already recommended this brand and unit to my mother-in-law, who will be buying a new upright freezer in the next year.
