Meets my expectations so far...

Until I received my hearing aids I never knew how loud the freezer was.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice since it's self defrost!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this self defrost freezer about 2 months ago. The only thing that I don't like about this freezer is the opening of the freezer door. You have to hold the cabinet so the freezer doesn't move while your trying to open the door!

Upright Freezer

I love this freezer it is just what I needed. It gives me the additional freezer space I needed as well as it freezes so well that my ice cream items need a crowbar to get it out of the cartons or real good teeth to bite into an ice cream sandwich or bar.Its great. all my food I know is at no risk of defrosting. Also the sucking on the door is very good. seals well. This helps to keep any young ones out of harms way without having to lock the freezer. There are only 2 thing I did not agree with. 1st is the plastic key to lock. it. I would feel better with an old fashion metal key.2nd is the plastic piece in the bottom. I would again old fashion metal baskets.

Exactly what we wanted

It is been exactly what we were hoping it would be... compact, good freezing temperatures, well-lighted, large enough for our needs and a little bit more, and reliable. We recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This freezer is a good size for us. Because we live in the hot desert of Arizona we can't put it in the garage but have to keep it in the house. Unfortunately it runs a lot and is so noisy. We are slowly becoming accustomed to its many sounds. Just hope that eventually the noise will blend into our house sounds so that we won't notice it so much.

Noisy

I bought this freezer 4 weeks ago and installed it in a room kept at 74 degrees. It is very noisy when its running and seems to run a lot of the time. Also the door has such suction it is hard to open.

noise is low, you might hear the compressor running while it cools the interior. They require a high efficiency compressor. It is normal to experience a vacuum like suction from the freezer door. When the freezer door is opened, warm air rushes inside. When you close the door, all the warm air rushes to the evaporator which causes a vacuum. This will cause the door to be hard to open for about 10 to 15 seconds after closing.
