This thing is really noisy

I feel awful to learn you are experiencing loud sounds from your freezer.
Today's modern appliances have increased storage capacity and more stable temperatures; which requires a high-efficiency compressor. The sounds you are experiencing normally indicate your freezer is operating correctly. When the surrounding noise is low, you might hear the compressor running while it cools the interior. Some surfaces on floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make these sounds more noticeable.
For additional information about the sounds your freezer may produce, I recommend reviewing page 12-13 of your freezer's Use & Care guide.
For the most efficient operation, your freezer should be located where surrounding temperatures will not exceed 110°F (43°C). Temperatures of 32°F (0°C) and below will NOT affect operation. Additional compressor heaters are not recommended. Do not forget to allow space around your freezer for good air circulation. Leave a 3 inch (75 mm) space on all sides of the unit for adequate circulation.

Nice Little Freezer

Great, but noisy

I bought this freezer about a month ago. Its footprint was less than the chest type freezer I had for many years. I like the easier access and visibility of the upright. It has functioned very well, except it is quite noisy. I am not sure if it is the fan or the compressor, but it is quite loud, much more so than the previous freezer or any of my previous refrigerators. The freezer is in my garage, but I can hear it through the wall into our family room and the room next to it. Is this to be expected?
