Excellent size and no bending

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the upright freezer in July. I was tired of bending over into my chest freezer. Such a wonderful delight to stand and look inside for food as opposed to almost falling inside the old chest freezer.

Great freezer with good compartments

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this upright freezer about a month ago and I have so far been pleased with it. I read reviews about a noisy motor but honestly its barely noticeable once you get used to it. It also goes on and off so its not a constant annoying noise.
I use it to keep extra frozen meats, chicken and also to freeze homemade food so it stays fresh .

a few issues

i was a little disappointed that there were places for 4 shelves and the freezer only arrived with 3 shelves. also, this freezer is extremely noisy when it runs. i'm glad it's in our basement. if it was in a constant living space, the noise would drive us crazy.

Today’s compressors run much faster than in the past. Your compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. For additional information about the sounds your freezer makes, I recommend reviewing page 13 of your Use & Care guide.

Loud, but does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had the predecessor sold under the Sears/Kenmore label since 2005. The buyers of our house wanted the old one, so we replaced it with this. The new unit is quite loud. The only reason that it is tolerable is its placement in a well insulated garage of our new place. The old one was hardly noticeable in the finished basement, next to my office. It should have come with the optional extra shelf and it would be nice if it had a roll out basket like the current Kenmore. Frost free is a plus, but its effectiveness remains to be seen. With the extra shelf, it is a bit easier to use than the earlier one, but because the shelves do not have cooling coils in them, I get the feeling that it does not cool as fast.

excellant freezer for its size and money
