runs too frequently and noisy

problem is it runs for an hour, off for 1/2 hr., runs for another hour -- also very noisy

We understand that some sounds coming form your freezer can be clamorous. Modern appliances have increased storage capacity and more stable temperatures. They require a high efficiency compressor. This is normal. When the surrounding noise is low, you might hear the compressor running while it cools the interior.

It is normal for the freezer to make some humming or gurgling noises while it's running, and it should run as needed in order to maintain the set temperature. If it appears to be running too often, try reducing the setting to a warmer temperature and check the seals on the door to ensure there are no gaps where cold air may be escaping. Great Freezer - Noisy

The freezer seems to be doing what it was purchased for except for one issue, it runs almost all the time even though the door is rarely opened !! It does not retain the freezing temperatures without running quit frequently.

Hi, Drumming! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. If the freezer is running too much, it can be caused by a few things. If the room or outside weather is hot, it can caused the freezer to run longer in these conditions. Also, if large amounts of warm or hot food is stored in the freezer. It will cause the freezer to run longer until the desired cold temperature is reached again.
