I just bought the album, I haven't given it a full listen to yet, got about halfway through it. So I'm not commenting on music but the actual disc. The disc was BLACK when I inserted it into my computer, when I ejected, it was WHITE. That bugged me out. I thought there was packaging on the disc I forgot to remove and it got stuck in my disc drive... I put the disc back in the case and as I was closing it, I noticed the disc started turing black again... THIS CD IS CURSED... LMAO.

What's great about it: good album over all
What's not so great: it's a little more polished than past albums
Every track is worth its salt. Good album over all. This is one that can be played again and again. It really has a timeless quality about it. Very sincere in its effort.

What's great about it: The lyrics, the albums layout
What's not so great: The first listen through
I have to say that I was not very impressed my first listen through of the CD. But the second time I heard it I felt as though I was listening to completely different CD. Great CD, Great band, Great everything.

What's great about it: Howlin' for you, Sinister kid, Everlasting Light
Basically if you like Attack & Release you should like Brothers. The first half is 5 star worthy, the second half however has several soulful ballads. This is basically the linchpin of the album on whether you like it or love it.

What's great about it: great music, great lyrics, great feeling
What's not so great: you not listening to it
Perhaps not as raw as their earlier albums and doesnt have an opening riff that punches you in the face like Thickfreakness but they have more soul psychedelic-ness on Brothers and it feels good. Real good.
It took 3 listens to fall in love with the album like I am with everyother album they have but I saw the (everlasting) light and fell head over heels once again for this magnificent duo.

What's great about it: Musicality
What's not so great: Not as blues as the old stuff.
The new effort by the Black Keys does NOT dissapoint. The style of music has followed the progression from 2008's Attack and Release, venturing into a more psychedelic sound that the older albums. I love the old sound, but the growth into this new style feels like the logical progression for the band to go in. If you are a Black Keys fan, you will like the album. If you are a blues fan, maybe not as much.
With a doubt, this album is worth checking out. Be sure you do.
