Good reprogrammable lock

What's great about it: Pregrammable access codes
What's not so great: Need to subscribe ($) to use advanced features
This ten key electronic lock is a good investment over keyed locks for obvious reasons. No more handing out keys to temporary people. Program a special key for that special person, delete it when their need to access the house is no longer needed. Avoid the risk of keys being cloned and walking to unwanted places. The only downside is, like many other things, needing a subscription to the online service to take advantage of the touted remote access capabilities. It just seems that everything you are buying today requires you to enter into a pseudo contract that continues to requires paying forever. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. I would prefer the ability to assign an IP address to the Internet device and be able to access it like normal, but it is not designed that way. Many of the software features are somewhat "cloud" based and controlled by Schlage/Nexia.

What's great about it: Easy to install, good lock battery life and communication to phones or email.
What's not so great: Not all model locks can be be locked remotely.
I have now had three Schlage Link locks on my home, this is in addition to two thermostats and light controller. Everything works great. Someone enters our home, my wife and I know instantly; same when they leave. I can control the thermostats with my PC, iPad or phone, that is great.
One downside is that the Deadbolt model cannot be locked remotely, the other model can. I wish all locks could be locked remotely with my iPad, PC or phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Easy to install, great customer support
What's not so great: Monthly fee required for web/internet access
I've always liked Schlage products, but skeptical of electronic locks. I think they have a winner with this system. I love not having to dig in my pocket for my keys--I just punch in my private code to release the deadbolt. From my iPhone or web browser, I can securely check to see if my deadbolt is set, add/remove codes for friends/relatives to gain access in an emergency, and I can even turn on/off lights.
I would recommend this to a friend!
