EATS LAMPS! Prepare to spend a ton of cash.

Nice projector, but our first lamp lasted less than 200 hours. It's ceiling-mounted to two joists with a heavy bracket so vibration isn't an issue, and is connected to a Furman F1000 UPS for power protection in case of an outage while lit, voltage regulation and noise filtering.
I accept that the 4.000-hour rating is pure marketing hype, but didn't expect to have to shell out for a new lamp at 5% of its rated life.
This looks like it's going to be a VERY expensive projector to own, even though we don't use it anywhere nearly as often as I had hoped when I build the theatre. Budget a dollar an hour for your movie watching pleasure, and make sure to buy those extra lamps early - you'll need 'em.

I'll make this short and sweet. I purchased this projector in September 2013. We don't have a dedicated theater room, its ceiling mounted and projected on a 120" DaLite screen in our living room. We use it for not only movies, but sometimes, even the evening news. My projector has over 1900 hours on the original bulb and it's still very bright, even with the kitchen lights on. I absolutely love this projector and would definitely recommend it to anyone! keep up the great work Epson!

Just One Thing I Don't Like

The projector does not come with a written instruction manual. You have to download it from the internet every time you want to look something up. Other than that, I love the projector.

very slow to startup

I find that the projector takes in inordinately long time to warm up, over a minute before the EPSON logo appears and then the initial picture has a green cast to it for about another 15-20 seconds. Disappointed.

I was initially hesitated to buy an expensive projector but this projector was great and it have the great quality and great picture and a great addition to my entertainment room.

This is outstanding projector. The colors are as pure and clear as you can get. This has brought my family together.
Great product for the price range and movie lovers. I used the projector during the football season to watch my Giants and was amazed at the quality of the picture and clarity.

Bought this for my media room and I am loving it. Came on time in perfect condition. It was easy to mount and within minutes i have it on my screen. Picture is crystal clear. I didn't have to change any settings. Two thumbs up.
