Defective Lag Screws

Do not use the lag screws. The quality is poor and they broke in two upon installation.Purchase your own lags, 5/16 x 3 1/2. Also the instructions were pretty much by illustrations only, no written, step by step instructions. It wasn't diifficult but could have been more user friendly It is installed and the TV mounted and functions as advertised.It appears you will need to use care and caution when postioning your TV, It is not the most stable wall mount.
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality

Sanus VMF 220

We added a new addition to our home and wanted a full motion wall mount for our 46" flat screen TV. We purchased the Sanus VMF 220 and installation was done by our contractor. It was about a week later when we discovered that the box had been thrown away with the TV brackets and screws still in the box. We felt terrible about making such a stupid mistake.
I went back to the store where I had bought the VMF 220 and they were helpful in getting me the information I needed to get in touch with Sanus. I first went on line to see what parts were missing. I then called Sanus and spoke with a gentleman named Ross. I told him what I needed and he asked me why I didn't have those parts in the box. I then proceeded to tell him what we had done. He chuckled and said most people would have said that the parts were missing when they opened the box. He then said that because of my honesty about what had happened, that he was going to send me the parts I needed free of charge. Good for you Sanus.... There should be more companies out there like you. I will always buy your product and I am sure that I will enjoy this one. Thank you.

Questionable engineering

We haven't finished this installation yet, but so far, we are not impressed with the engineering or ease of installation. We also broke lag bolts. In addition, the instruction booklet is weak, a bad sign when trying to mount an expensive tv. Biggest issue at the moment is why on earth the set screw to hold the tv still is located in an absolutely impossible place to reach after dropping the set into the main slot. Did anyone actually TRY doing that before manufacturing? On the other hand, customer phone service is spectacular! Let's hope R&D improves.
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality, Difficult to Use

Lag Bolts

The lag bolts were not a problem. Just tighten very slowly. I also put a bit of soap on the bolt to make it go int easier.
The important thing is measure twice to make sure you are setting it up in the right place. Keep the height as well as the width of the tv in mind.

Very pleased with purchase of this mount

This is the 3rd Sanus mount i've purchased/installed but is the first full motion mount i've used. Like the other Sanus mounts i was immediately impressed with the quality of construction and ease of installation. I did not have any trouble with the lag bolts like i read on other reviews, but i mounted it to a stud using my own construction screws. I would have given it top marks in all categories if leveling the TV was a little easier once the mount was on the wall. Aside from this one point the flexibility of this mount is fantastic. My wife now calls this installation our 'floating tv'.
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Good Quality
