Dentist suggested I purchase the product and I did. Very disappointed with the flosser. Very messy, water goes everywhere and I'm an adult not a child. Even went to the extreme of holding the bulky flosser in one hand and a paper towel in front of my mouth, still water everywhere.

Thank you for your comments! We are sorry that you are finding it difficult to use the WP-450. If you follow the link below, it will take you to a how-to video for this model.
this unit does it's job, but with the sump into at the bottom you must hold it upright at all time. Doing this makes a mess very were including all over the unit. As we have both this unit and the counter top withe hose we can see big big differents when using. I would recommend the hose unit if you are just using it at home.

Thank you for your feedback. Please review the how-to video below. The video does offer helpful tips on how to prevent water from splashing.
The WP-450 works great and is easy to use. This waterpik makes sure your mouth is super clean and there's not a spec hiding anywhere in your teeth. Works great!
No matter how u hold the water pic u the water gets all over your hand. Poor design for a hand held water pic. I would take it back if I could. I’m going to buy the children’s water pic. It is like the travel one I bought urs ago that I can’t get a battery for!

Mold Problems

The concept is great, but has anyone else noticed mold in the bottom of the reservoir? I took it off and tried to clean the mold off with a pipe cleaner to no avail. I held the white intake valve under the faucet, thinking water would come out the sprayer end. When it didn’t, I shook the water out via the bottom value and was HORRIFIED to find A LOT of pieces of black mold coming out with the water from the inside of the Waterpik.

We sincerely apologize for the difficulty you have encountered. If additives (such as mouthwash) are added to the water in the reservoir, then our instructions call for rinsing the system with a reservoir full of clean water after each use. This will help prevent buildup in the water pathway. It is also important to remember to clean the reservoir at least once a week and to run distilled white vinegar and warm water through the unit at least once a month.
