Never having a water pick before, I did not know what to expect. I think the button function should be reversed; i.e. press to start and release to stop the flow of water. After a week or so of using, it is difficult to notice any real difference in cleaning.

The Tank Leaks

Our dentist recommend it. It seems it has an Achilles heel in the washer that seals the tank to the base. Even after cleaning with vinegar it leaked.It leaks from the bottom washer. The company sent new washers but it still leaks. A very POOR design.

I purchased this to replace the older model we had. This model is adequate but it has a few things that weren't quite thought out.
The old model has a nice holder that holds the tip in place with no problems other than it could be a bit hard to release the tip.
The new model has a nice easy mount for the tip and a little button to release the tip, problem is the release is right at the top of the handle where you hold the unit. I don't think the makers actually used their own product because the release is in a really bad spot. It seems I'm constantly releasing the tip at the worst possible time, when it's in my mouth trying to clean my teeth. I've had to learn to hold the handle much lower which doesn't feel natural.

The old model had plenty of water force I actually had to leave it under full power and it cleaned my teeth really well.

The old unit had a nice big tank which held enough water to clean all of my teeth.
The new unit has a much smaller tank which I find I have to throw another glass of water or two in to complete the task.

The new unit could also us a bit longer hose connecting the handle to the unit.
The new unit seems to collect a lot of water under the tank which I have to have a wash cloth handy to wipe the water up with.

It is still a good unit but it is really a downgrade from the original. I think if the engineers who designed it actually used it the product could have been made a lot better.
Just my two cents.

I am an oral care fiend - after discovering what a scam most dentists and the dental care industry in general is I began to seek alternative treatments and have achieved great success in taking control of my oral health. If you’re interested in water flossers you likely have a greater interest in your oral health (like I do) than the general public, which is why I’m writing this review. I seldom write reviews for products; good - or - bad because I find them to further complicate and confuse me when considering a product, some people like it, some don’t so how are you suppose to know? Anyway I am disappointed with WaterPik. I’ve had two of their water flossers and both were poor quality. The rubber seal on the blue water container was garbage - it always leaked. The button on the handle would always get stuck; and I mean STUCK. You press and hold the button to stop the flow of water temporarily; until you let go. The button remained stuck. Pressing it over and over again didn’t help. I would always have to stop the machine until I figured out a way to get it unstuck only to have it get stuck again next time I pressed it. The water flossers would also get stuck to the handle. They snap into place and there is a release button that’s suppose to make it easy to switch between flossers. Even with the release, I could never pull them out without a struggle, some of them breaking in the process. The last one broke and a piece of it is stuck inside the handle and I cannot get it out, even after trying every method imaginable without damaging the unit. This has been one of the most frustrating items I have ever used. Customer support never responded back to me... unfortunately for me I don’t have a Twitter or Instagram following so I get ignored. I’m not mad I guess but it does suck.

This water pic is far better than the 2 other water flossers I tried. They only lasted a few months each . This water pic is more powerful and effective! (Don't get one that runs on batteries unless you don't mind a weak one while traveling and don't mind replacing batteries often.) This water pic also has a much better pause button and on/off switch than the others I tried. I'm very happy that I tried this one.

This is the 3rd unit I bought. I like the unit. However, on each unit the pause button has failed. This is a design fault and should be fixed. I avoid using it now.
