This is my third waterpik. I stopped using it for a while and brought it out of the moth balls and used it for a while until it stopped working. I bought this new one and it is just great. it is compact and easy to use. I've had my best check ups since I've been using the waterpik. Actually my dentist recommended I use a waterpik. It messages my gums as well as, cleaning the plaque from between my teeth

Waterpik seems to work well for its intended purpose but I found it to be really messy. Even on the lowest speed the water pressure is too high and causes a mess. Maybe it is just the model I have but I was disappointd in the performance. Don't use it much because of this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
