I purchased this to replace an older unit that finally gave it up. It is much lighter and while that is great it is quite a bit louder and noisier than the old one. I love to water floss as it is the best way to remove lots of crud your dental tape and brush could not. I own a couple of battery operated units for travel that are not as powerful as this plug in unit. It is quite powerful when set to full pressure. Tools that came with it are very useful.
I upgraded from the hand-held version of this that also worked great. But thiis is almost twice as powerful with more adjustment. The bottomline is I started using a Waterpik Water Flosser after having gum disease and the disease is gone after less than a year of use.
Purchased about a month ago....takes a little practice to get used too, but it cleans your teeth and gums very well..I had particles to come out of my gums even after brushing!!! Very powerful, I haven't used the highest power setting yet, due to strong pressure.
This is my second Waterpik and I totally love it. When my old one died, I immediately ran out to replace it. It finds food you had forgotten you had eaten and washes it away and replaces it with a nice fresh feeling. Add a little mouthwash to the water reservoir after you have brushed your teeth and you will think you had just completed a dental hygienist visit.
