In spite of twice daily brushing with Sonicare and flossing with Glide, my dental visits were always associated with tremendous tartar build up. After my last encounter, I decided to give the Waterpik Flosser a try. It has been 6 weeks since my last cleaning and the Waterpik, used just once a day, has my teeth feeling like I just had a professional cleaning. I can hardly believe how amazingly effective this device has been for me. Just using the standard tip with the simple and easy to follow instructions has made me a believer for life.
I have been using WaterPiks for decades, and they are only getting better. You should still floss, brush (preferably with a Sonicare type brush, and swish mouthwash around.
But to really get the gunk out from between your teeth and below the gumline, this is the way to go. I probably sound like a commercial, but they really are awesome. Just bought my fourth one. (They last, too, as long as you keep 'em cleaned out.)
I stepped up to this Waterpik from the less powerful, cordless version and glad I did. This one give a much more thorough rinsing with many more power levels!
Bought this two weeks ago for our teenager. Only thing not so great is the noise it makes, and we need 2 refills on the water reservoir by the time he's done.
