I had pretty much brushed my gums away as a teen by using a very hard brush thinking it was doing a great job at cleaning my teeth. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was brushing my gums away by using such a hard brush and brushing incorrectly. As an adult, I use to brush three times a day with a VERY soft brush and floss at night before going to bed. NOW I am told I am brushing too much and need to be more gentle when flossing. I can't seem to win! Enter the Waterpic Water Flosser. It feels really good to use, is easy to use, and seems to be a lot gentler on my gums; at least this is my opinion. I'll know for sure when I go back to my dentist in January, at which time I will try to update my review. Now I do have some stubborn plaque that has accumulated on my lower front teeth that the Waterpic has not been able to remove. This was there before I started using the Waterpic, but once removed by the dentist, it is my hope that the Waterpic will be able to keep this plaque from forming. I hope that my new routine of brushing twice a day, rinsing after lunch, and using the Waterpic Water Flosser at night will help me have the healthiest mouth possible.
I don't know why I have waited this long to buy the product. If i had to suggest one improvement it would be to reverse the function of the button that starts and stops the water discharge. When pushed the button should initiate the water stream and when released it should halt the water stream.
I bought this water pic a few weeks ago. My old water pic finally gave out. This new one cleans my gums & teeth much better. I use the round brush, gum cleaner, and regular pic. I am very happy with my purchase.
