Online sites that sell your stereo usually include everything you need for free. (mounting kit, harness, and antenna) Im not sure if bestbuy's service will work if you bring in your own stereo, if not you can take it to a local car audio shop.

Excellent question! Car stereo installation services start at $49.99, although additional fees may apply if extra parts (connectors, harnesses, etc.) are necessary. For more detailed information I would encourage you to check out the following link:

Question

Can you diagnose why my speakers sometimes work?

I've had all my friends that know alot about cars look at my car. The speakers work, but pretty much only when they want to. If I let my car sit out in the sun all day and its super hot inside the speakers will work, generally the back speakers. But sometimes when I'm driving down the road the sound will cut from the back speakers to the front speakers also. I bought a new cd player thinking that the factory cd player may have been causing the problem. We put the new cd player in and the speakers still do the same thing. How much would it cost to diagnose that and do I have to set up an appointment?

what year make and model of car do you have? I'm betting there is a factory amplifier somewhere and that is your issue.

An amp install would be an additional charge of $70 for a sub amp/ 2 channel amp and $100 for a 4 channel amp not including the amp wiring kit.

It would actually cost a lot more than the $70 you were just told on here as you need to buy new subs and a new amp. Sony makes garbage subs and really? a 444 watt amp? Buy a decent setup first then worry about the install

answer 2
amp install is $70, if you have a factory radio then you will need a line output converter. You will need a wiring kit but that is better decided by the installer when he/she sees the amplifier

Question

Is my radio blown?

I own a 96 Honda Accord, and a few weeks ago a friend of mine was using the car lighter outlet to charge his phone. All of a sudden, the Sony radio (that I recently purchased from Best Buy) beeped like it does when it turns off, and has never come back on. I have checked the two fuse panels- one located on the driver side and one under the hood, and all is checking out to be okay. The lighter does not work still, but the cd player will still spit cds out like it is getting power, which is confusing. Can anyone direct me further? Do I need to bring it in for a technitian to look at, and if so, how much will that cost?

If bestbuy installed it then I would schedule a time to have an autotech take a look at it. It sounds like a blown fuse. A visual check of the fuses isn't enough putting a meter on them will tell the story

I wold suggest having a tech look at. The diagnosis won't probably won't cost you anything. Any service that is preformed to fix the problem would be charged to you.

Question

My subwoofers are killing my battery

Apparently the people who installed my amp and subwoofers grounded something wrong and it is draining my battery. I have no idea how to fix it so how much would it cost to get someone to look at it and possibly fix it if i cant do it myself?

If you are loosing power from your system there are a few options.

First check to your battery; how old is it and is it keeping its charge*

*if you keep charging it and it still is loosing power check your alternator or battery

Second you can buy a capacitor depending on how much you are pulling power wise. These are great for that annoying light dimming.

Third install a second battery, make sure you hook them up parallel. But before going to extreme measures, try just upgrading to better car battery. My favorite is Optima Batteries. They make special ones just for car sound systems.

Hope these tips help

Troubleshooting estimate is really more like a guestimate because it could be anything and might not even be related to the amp and sub install. Get ahold of your local installbay and talk it over with an autotech.
