Yes it is. XL is only a large size. A HP 61 ink toner will work on you 3050.

answer 2
Yes in that 61 is the correct compatibility. The XL means that it is supposed to give you up to 2.5 times more pages. I have used both the 61XL and plain 61. I find it debatable whether or not it produces more prints or copies. I would have to actually count every single page to answer if you do get that many extra pages or not.

If it says it's compatible, it should work fine. Go to the HP website and do a search for compatible ink cartridges for your printer just to be on the safe side.

The HP DeskJet 3050 printer supports both the HP 61 and HP 61XL ink cartridges. The difference between the two cartridges is the HP 61 is the regular cartridge and the HP 61XL is the high capacity cartridge, which is not bigger but has more ink.

Question

Is it better to buy combo pack or individual cartridges?

Is the ink the same amount in each cartridge whether you purchase in a combo pack or individually. I was curious if I were to purchase just a single black cartridge or a color cartridge if that has the same amount of ink as the combo pack cartridges with the black and color cartridges purchased together? Thanks. Just trying to see if there is any benefit purchasing them individually vs. combo packs.

Usually it it less expensive to buy a combo pack. However, sometimes individual packs are on sale and it would be better to buy those instead. Make sure you check the prices of both on the day of your purchase to get the best price on that day.

There appears to be the same amount of ink in the combo pack and individual unless it says XL. This is supposed to mean that you should get up to 2.5 times more pages. (I would have to count every single page that I print and copy to verify if this is true). Unless you use AN AWFUL LOT of color pages, it has been more economical for me to purchase two black ink cartridges together in a pack, and one color by itself. Either way, along with doing a price match with Amazon, you really don't save much money whatever decision that is made.

The only problem I have ever heard regarding this issue is the fact that many lower price point hp printers cannot use high yield cartridges. The printer should have the necessary cartridge # info on the printer usually on the inside of the cartridge service door.

I run a business so I found going with a laser printer I only have to replace my ink once a year vs the HP 61 and so on.The smaller one you have to replace them every 1 1/2-2 months you can print a couple hundred if you are looking for more pages per cartridge I highly recommend Lazer but not through Best Buy they don't cater to Business or business like printing hopefully this will be helpful.

answer 7
The packages doesn't say. You could go on the HP website to find out. Of course it depends on how many words are on each page.

I don't know as I think the answer would depend on what you are printing (e.g., mostly black, mostly color or documents that use both).

answer 10
The HP 61 Black Ink Cartridge (CH561WN) will print approximately 190 pages, while the HP 61 Tri-color Ink Cartridge (Yellow, Cyan, Magenta) (CH562WN) will print approximately 165 pages.

Average page yields are tested on 8.5" x 11" paper with 5% page coverage (a normal document).

It will work with your printer, but won't give you the best print quality. There is other HP ink that is specific to that printer model number. Just ask the store you go to or HP and they will advise you of the ink model number that goes with your printer.

The HP 5510 is not listed on the side of the HP 61 ink cartridge box so it's probably not.
