From what I know, you have to go into the store and purchase the protector. They only put it on in the store.

Question

can I have screen protector replaced?

I bought and paid for best buy to put a zagg protector on my phone and tablet. The shield is guaranteed not to come off or scratch according to the techs. The screen on my phone is peeling off and has a hole and the one on tablet is peeling off too. I don't have receipts for either but I used my rewards card for purchase. Can I still have them replace for free?

any store can look up your purchases with your rewards card. Mine was peeling off also and they confirmed when I purchased the Zagg protector cover, so they replaced it with a new one for free. I also have Geek Squad protection that I purchase for $99 per year. It has saved me a lot in this past year.

They should be able to look up your purchase with your phone number if you have best buy rewards. Shouldn't be a problem.

I would have the geek squad people install the screen. To many steps to follow and you need to use water from a spray bottle.

if you are not happy with the installation and bubbles are left after 48 hours you can return and have it reinstall, however give it the full 48 hours as some of the bubbles you see are condensation that takes care of itself once it has finish drying.

It shouldn't have bubbles in it. I had this problem but it didn't bubble until I got it home. I returned it the next day and left it with them overnight for them to fix it. When I picked it up it was bubble free. Geek Squad should fix the problem for you. I hope this helps.

Pretty much. My Geek made numerous tries (and two films) to get it right, in about a half hour. This was a Zagg product for iPad that included a fluid and squeegee to "suck" the film onto the glass face. After 24 hours of drying, there were no bubbles and only one small dust mote. The Geek's results were so much better than any of my own efforts on other products.

Expect air bubbles and expect to not use the device for 24 hours. The bubbles will disappear and you end up with a great product. I have installed the screen protector myself. It is much easier and better when done by the Geek Squad.

No - unless the installation is done in a completely sterile environment with no air blowing through the room. Think about the physics of putting 2 different surfaces together. There will always be minute amounts of air trapped between the surfaces. Depending how good the technician is at keeping even pressure on all points of the protector screen while applying it to iPad screen you will probably have some bubbles. They tell you when you pick up your product that it will take 2-3 days for the air bubbles to work their way out. Mine took about 2.5 days. Leave it uncovered in a warm but not hot room to encourage the bubbles to move.

When they had some trouble with bubbles during installation of my screen protector (also bought at Best Buy), they removed it and replaced it with an entirely new one. I'm not sure if that is policy or not, but I always let them install my screen protectors now. It's definitely worth it (especially for people with pets).

I also googled it and found a few reliable places that I could've sent my ipad2 for screen replacement, but they were a little priceer.
about $160.00 -still not too bad a deal for the ipad 2

Question

Will you clean my iPad before putting on a new shield?

I've had my iPad for a while and would like the existing shield removed and a new one put on.

Apparently having an insanely clean, no dirt, no dust, no lint screen surface is key for the shield to be applied correctly and look great after it's on. Cleaning the iPad is not listed as one of the Geek Squad screen installation steps. ??

Just ask or make sure you get someone who know how to install the shields correctly. I heard you can ask for someone that is zagg certified to do it for you. They should wipe down and clean screen of dust smudges and all that during process.

Screen protector installation is typically considered to be a one-time service, so you may be responsible for the cost of having the replacement InvisibleShield installed. If you haven't already done so though, you may wish to speak with a Best Buy Mobile specialist at your local store to see what options might be available.
