Questions & Answers for Sanus - Elements Antitip Strap for Most Flat-Panel TVs Up to 60" - Black

Question

Will this attach to any manufacturer's TV of the indicated size limit?

It looks like it requires there to be already existing screws or screw holes in the back of the TV. Do all top end TV's have this? Anyone know if LG's 55" OLED has such screw holes?

Hi Bud, Thanks for the question. We are SANUS the manufacturer of the anti-tip strap for TV's, so don't know too much about the Roku or it's password set-up. I did a quick Google search and did come up with this password reset website that might help? https://my.roku.com/password/reset
Thanks again for buying SANUS,

M8s are a standard machine screw, and longer ones can be purchased at most hardware or home improvement stores, for less than a dollar.

No, the TV strap is like a fitted rope. If you want a swivel TV I would recommend a TV wall mount. You will need a stud finder, however, and you will need to make a pair of holes in your wall.

Hello,
Thanks for the question. The Anti-Tip strap is made to keep TV’s stationary on furniture as an alternative to mounting it, so unfortunately, you cannot swivel the TV when attached.

Question

Can this just be mounted to the wall only? If not, do you know of another model?

I have a glass topped TV stand so can't drill & anchor the strap to the furniture as shown in the diagrams.

It seems like you can simply attach this model to the wall alone. Just tighten the strap short.

Mine is on a stand and it is great. Nevertheless the package included additional products for securing it on the wall instead of the stand

You have the option of either the wall, your furniture, or both. If you have a metal stand, metal screws are included. But yes u can just screw to wall, just make sure you find the stud in the wall.

You can just mount it to the wall but it provides better resistance when it's mounted into the furniture also.

Question

Mounting Hardware

Do you have any specifications on the mounting hardware that comes with this product. Specifically, from the product picture it looks like there is a bracket that attaches to the wall which connects to the strap. Also, I'm guessing that the screws/bolts come with the product? If yes, are those M8 screws?

I have a Samsung Smart 55" LED and the manual suggested M8 screws for the anti-tip straps.

Thanks for your help.

It is not 100% necessary, but at the risk of splitting the wood accidentally I would highly recommend a drill.

answer 2
Most likely, most stands are partical board and a clean hole is a must to prevent the screw from chewing out too large a hole for a solid mount.

It would most likely limit the swivel ability, and putting the strap on loosely would defeat the purpose of attaching it. I would not recommend it.

The straps may not be long enough to gurantee the reach for the screws on the back of the TV. Plus the company has to determine the max size the straps will safely support.
