There are only 3 physical inputs.
(2) optical digital
(1) 3.5 analog digital.

If you use the analog input for your ipod/iphone w/ a patch cable, and hook the tv up with optical digital cables you should be fine.

Another option is to purchase the wireless dock cradle separately ($97). Model Number HT-WDC10

If you ask me, Samsung shouldn't advertise a feature that is sold separately and costs extra. Include it in the box or don't bother. AmIrite?

Since the HW-D450 offers both 3.5mm RCA analogue and 2 optical audio inputs, technically, you should be able to connect multiple devices to the SoundBar. However, although the SoundBar will offer iPod connectivity through the headphone jack, it will not be able to control music playback from an iPod.

No sir. However I have heard that some of the high end universal remotes such as the Logitech Harmony *might* let you control this.

Due to some manufacturers using different codes for their IR remotes, Samsung does not offer universal codes or support for these remotes. In order to find out your remote's code for our Samsung SoundBar, it is best that you contact your remotes manufacturer for further details.

Yes Denise. If you use a 3.5 audio patch cable (male/male), you can connect your ipad to the soundbar analog input. I was able to test this out right in the store's display model using my android phone.

That is correct, since the D450 SoundBar offers an optical and a RCA 3.5mm analogue audio input jack, the best way to connect a device that only offers a 3.5mm jack is with a 3.5mm jack audio cable.

I'm not sure what output options are available on your television. Without that information, I'm unable to assist.

Please either try re-posting the question, or asking for assistance from a Best Buy Geek Squad Agent.

After trying three different Time Warner Cable remotes and a visit from the TWC technician, I finally called Samsung support and was told that this unit cannot be controlled by another remote. For $250 in 2012, you'd think that capability would be a given. After all, this is SAMSUNG. Or more to the point, this is SAMSUNG?

From the available information, since there is no way to control the audio output volume from the TV itself (the TV’s audio output is Fixed and not variable) either a universal remote or separate remotes will be required to control all of your devices.

A sound bar is to a TV, what box bass speakers are to a car. It makes it sound better. HDTV are know for smaller speakers and lack luster sound. Add a sound bar to it and you have great sound. Kind of like having a surround sound without all the wires.

This unit employs decoders compatible with Dolby Digital and DTS (Digital Theater Systems). The decoders are essentially the way the sound system handles and processes the audio that is being input.

Since the HW-D450 is a stand alone speaker system, it will not have the ability to connect to another stereo system for added speaker connectivity.

The Sound bar hooks up through RCA jacks or optical audio cord. The best sound would be through the optical output cord. The bass module only needs a power outlet because it is wireless.

The sound bar is the same width as a 40" class Samsung TV and roughly 4-5" high. The bass module is about 16" x 16" and 6" deep. The system is nearly invisible if you have the right set-up in the room.
