The N600 router has been tested for a direct line of site connection of 150 ft. Connection range depends upon the type of wireless adapter you are using and the environment you are using the router in.

The Belkin N600 Wireless Router will work with AT&T internet as long as you have a modem supplying an ethernet connection for your router. If you use Dial-up access this router will not work for you.

The USB Port on the Belkin N600 Wireless router will allow you to connect your USB enabled printer to the router to share amongst multiple computers in your household. You will need to run the router control software included on the CD that comes with the router. This software will run on windows 7 and allow you to connect to and print from the USB printer attached to your router.

Question

Can I attach a 7 port USB hub to the USB port on the Belkin N600 router?

I have a number of USB devices that I would like to attach to the Belkin USB port (i.e. printer, scanner, smart media card reader, ...). Can I use a USB hub to attach them to the USB port on the N600 router? How would i load device drivers?
I would like to eliminate my existing laptop and go to an IPAD2 computer or equivalent device, but they don't support USB ports. I don't want to utilize my old laptop as a host computer so that I can access my USB devices. My laptop is on its last legs. That is why I am hoping your router can handle multiple USB devices.

I would use a USB over IP , there are all kinds.. not all USB devices are supported over IP. USB flash drives do., I own the myutn-250 ., this company can access USB devices over the Internet , you have to open ports, but it works., you only need one the one on the left is the 8 port one, the one I have is myutn-250 and I love it. There is a software version sharing usb ports (USB Network Gate) , works great too , but not over the Internet

The Belkin N600 router only allows 1 device at a time to be connected to it and does not support USB hubs. The software included with the router to use the USB ports is only compatible with Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS based devices. The software will not run on your iPad 2. The iPad can use the router but will be unable to use an attached printer.

Question

For wireless printing, will I need to load the router software on each laptop that I want to print wirelessly from?

I have two laptops, one of which is currently docked and wired by USB to a printer. I have another laptop that is not currently connected to the printer. To allow both devices to print wirelessly, will I need to load the router software onto both laptops (would I also need to load the printer software to the second laptop that currently doesn't have it)?

The specifications for the Belkin N600 router are actually on the packaging of the router itself as well as on our website. The N600 router does not have gigabit ethernet capabilities. The N450 and N750 models will have gigabit ethernet and are slated to be relased later this year.
