The headphone can not be used for a phone, but there are adapters that will allow you to. Best Buys sell two that I know of. One is made by Bellken and the other is made by Dynex. Look in the headphone and cell phone accessory section of Best Buys.

Yes, they will. On the back of your computer, where you would normally plug the speakers in, you'll find the same exact jack you'd find on your iPod or MP3 player. That is where you would plug these in. Your mileage may vary.

answer 1
The perceived loudness of the Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK |SKU:2204196 stereo headphones will ultimately depend on numerous objective and subjective factors. The quality of the source component’s internal headphone amplifier will play a crucial role in determining how loud the volume levels the Sony headphones can be played back at. Typically, most portable audio devices such as MP3 players, portable radios, or portable CD players feature low powered built-in headphone amplifiers ranging between 5-15 mW at a designated impedance level. Conversely, the headphone amplifiers found in component stereo equipment may be rated up to 500mW and are much more powerful than the headphone amplifiers found in common MP3 or MP4 portable audio devices. Component stereo receivers can power stereo headphones with a much higher impedance ratings of 70-300 ohms or greater more efficiently when compared to portable audio components. Component stereo equipment also makes use of full-size .25-inch (6.3mm) stereo headphone output jacks to deliver increased amplifier output power to consumer grade dynamic stereo headphones. Nonetheless, portable audio devices typically use smaller 3.5mm (1/8”) earphone jacks that can’t deliver the same amount of loudness as the full-size headphone jacks found on their component stereo counterparts. A headphones sensitivity rating also plays an important factor in loudness perception. Usually, most consumer dynamic stereo headphones are rated between 98-117db/mw on its sensitivity specification. The Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK stereo headphones feature a sensitivity rating of 100db/mw for excellent loudness output from most battery operated portable audio equipment. Consumers that are looking for extra loudness to block out external unwanted environmental noise will seek to purchase headphones with a very high sensitivity rating. The higher the sensitivity rating, the louder the headphones will play without the need to turn the volume control all the way up on the source component. Please note that the Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK stereo headphones do not feature an in-line volume control to increase this unit’s amplification output power. The Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK headphones feature a low impedance rating of 24 ohms at 1 kHz for robust audio playback of portable audio and component stereo equipment at all volume levels. It is my opinion that loudness perception of stereo headphones is subject to the limits of human hearing. Some customers can hear sound waves better than other customers. The hearing levels of all Best Buy customers are just not the same. Therefore, it is possible that some customers may report that the Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK headphones don’t play loudly enough from any mobile audio or component stereo source component, while other customers will frustratingly opine that they play too loudly for their tastes. The Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK stereo headphones are capable of reproducing the entire frequency spectrum of human hearing at the manufacturer specification of 12-22,000Hz frequency response. A dedicated third party headphone amplifier can also be purchased to augment the Sony headphones loudness output from low powered portable audio devices. Ultimately, your choice of stereo headphones will greatly affect the sound quality and overall loudness output. To achieve excellent loudness output, you should use stereo headphones that offer a low impedance level typically between 24-32 ohms at 1 kHz. Additionally, you should look to purchase stereo headphones that feature a high sensitivity rating measured in decibels. Look for stereo headphones with large diameter neodymium rare-earth, ferrite, or samarium cobalt magnet based drivers usually ranging between 30-70mm, extended low frequency response diaphragm design, wide dynamic range speaker drivers, passive or active noise cancelation techniques, comfortable ear pads to enjoy loud music for extended private listening sessions, 4-10 ft. high grade headphone connecting cord for enhanced electrical conductivity and thermal characteristics, high-performance copper or aluminum voice coils, and high output power handling capacity measured in milliwatts (500-3,000mW) for this extreme loudness request. It must be noted that principles of psychoacoustics, the laws of physics, and the recording quality of the music being listened to all play apart in determining the customer’s perceived loudness that will be experienced while wearing the Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK headphones. Customers can also consider purchasing a pair of high definition stereo headphones to augment their perception of loud volume levels across the wide variety of musical or spoken word entertainment categories. The Sony MDR-ZX100/BLK stereo headphones sport potent high-energy 30mm (1.18”) neodymium drivers that are capable of producing prodigious sound output from yesterday’s and today’s rock tracks, love songs, sad love songs, heavy metal, stadium rock anthems, guitar rock, psychedelic rock, folk, jazz, soul, rhythm and blues, opera, grunge, lounge music, country music, reggae, gospel, alternative new wave, dance, trance, classical music, disco, dubstep, punk rock, punk fusion, and hip-hop music that is associated with the present club music milieu. Good Luck.

Depends. I bought mine in-store here in Austin, TX but as with most nationwide chains what Best Buy may stock here, they may not stock somewhere else. Your best bet would be to call your local Best Buy and ask them if they have SKU: 2204196 (black) or 2204211 (white) in stock.

Yes, this is how I ordered them. You order it online, and you can check the availability in stores near your locale. After you order it they will reserve the item for you and let it know via email when it is ready for pickup. In my case it was ready in a matter of minutes. They give you about a week to pick it up, if it is not picked up within that time, the order will be canceled. When you pick the item up you need your credit card, state issued ID and the email they send you. If it is not available you can do a site to store (which is free) and you can pick it up when it arrives. Or you can always have the item shipped directly to you.

I had a good experience.
