No, I use this card in a Canon Powershot camera also. It can be used in any camera that will take this capacity card and in which the card will fit.

The Nikon D7000 is currently the only digital SLR that can take advantage of the performance boost of UHS-1 cards. This is apart from readers that support this technology like the SanDisk Extreme Pro Express Card Adapter for SDHC/SDXC UHS-I cards.

Good question. Please go to SanDisk's webpage at http://www.sandisk.com/microsites/ExtremeProSDHC/index.html . Under "Additional Info," they say "Up to 45MB/sec write/read speed (300X)."

For the SanDisk Extreme SDHC Card, they say at their website at http://www.sandisk.com/products/imaging/sandisk-extreme-sdhc-cards- "Now at new Class 10," and "Extreme speed at up to 30MB/second read/write (200X)." That cards says 30MB/s.

The SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC Card says 45MB/s. The 1 on the card refers to UHS Speed Class. Please see the "Speeds" section at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital . The discussion and chart illustrate that UHS 1 dwarfs the Class 10 Speed Class.

Anyway, though long-winded, I hope this answers your question. I went to Best Buy today to purchase the card. Apparently stores only carry the 16GB card, so I ordered the SanDisk Extreme Pro 32 GB SDHC Card online. If it comes close to my expectations, this will be a great card!

The SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Memory Card has a maximum read/write speed of 45 mb/s and a minimum of 10 mb/s read write for host devices that are compatible with the new 3.0 SD UHS specification . Transfer speed may be lower if the host device is not UHS-1 compatible. For more information, contact your device manufacturer or contact us at 1-866-SANDISK.

It depends on the size and type of file of picture file that you are using. with a 16 mp picture camera, you can probably get approx. 500 or more at the highest setting (raw) and literally thousands at the lowest jpeg setting. You should be fine with the 32 gb card.

Good luck

answer 5
This depends on how many MB (file size) per photo your camera takes pictures at. Depending on your megapixels and image quality settings, 32GB will take several thousand photographs. For instance, my DSLR camera takes photographs as .jpg at 18 mega pixels and each file is about 7mb each. There are 1,024 mb in a gb. So that's about 146 photos per gb, or 4,672 per 32 gb. This varies per photo (some photos in busy scenery are more like 9mb each) so on average I am able to get at least 3,000 pictures on my 32gb card. If you find out your file size you can also do the math based on the 1,024mb in each gb. If you are taking high quality .raw format photos at an average of 25mb each, then it would only be about 1,310 photos.

The Canon 60D is not advertised to be a UHS host. UHS based cards like the Extreme Pro 32GB SDHC are backwards compatible, it will perform to the maximum limit of the non-UHS host. This card will have a performance of up to 45MB/s in UHS based host devices and up to 20MB/s in non-UHS host devices.

You can but it would be overkill. The d5000 doesn't write to the card fast enough. You'd be better off saving the money and getting a slower card.

answer 3
Yes it is compatible. Both are SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity).

The Sandisk Extreme Pro writes at 45MB/sec while the Kingston card writes at 15MB/sec. With the Panasonic Lumix LX5, you probably don't need to spend the extra money on the SanDisk. However, I have found it to be faster using Canon 60D camera. When you look at memory cards, look at its write speeds, and ignore the "class 4" or "class 10" ratings, which I find to be confusing. Faster write speeds are better if you can afford them.
