No it means you have ability to connect via Wi-Fi and can access those services like Netflix if you have an internet access. Of course Make sure the Wi-Fi is built in otherwise you will need an adapter or connect via a Ethernet wire like a desktop computer does.

Excellent question! In regards to the BDHP75U Sharp Blu-ray player, Wi-Fi ready means that you will need a separate adaptor to connect to the Internet wirelessly. There is no need to purchase a separate adaptor because it will be included in the box.
