The main differences between the FH27 and the FH24 include the 3.0" LCD monitor on the FH27 compared to 2.7" LCD on the FH24. Also the FH27 offers unlimited consecutive shooting at 1.7 frames per second where the FH24 offers 1.5 frames per second.

The included software will allow you to upload videos to YouTube and share via email but not Facebook or Twitter. Although, when your pictures are uploaded to your computer, you can go to Facebook or Twitter and upload via the website.

With a 32GB SDHC card you can take as many as 162,000 photos in the 4:3 .3 megapixel mode or 4900 photos in the 4:3 16 megapixel mode.

You can video record a total 16 hours in QVGA mode or more than 2 hours worth of video in the HD mode.

Question

whats the difference between panorama view and wide angle lenses?

I would like to buy a new digital "point and shoot" camera and I'm not sure what all the hype is about wide angle lenses? Is it like panorama or something?

The lense gives you a wider angle view than normal but not the distorted view of a fisheye or extreme wide angle. So standing in place, you can get more of a scene in your picture. Panorama is a picture that is longer than it is wide. These are usually specialty cameras. I don't know if there is a lense that can do that

A wide angle lens allows the camera to capture items in a photo that are closer to you. A wide angle lens is used to prevent having to step backwards to try to fill everything into the frame.

This camera does very well with night shots. The shutter speed can be manually adjusted (15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds) only in the Starry Sky scene mode.

To stitch the pictures together, you will use the supplied software. While taking the pictures, you will just take each picture while turning and facing your panoramic view.
