Question

How do I add a 2nd monitor to my ASUS All In One Desktop?

I tried connecting a 2nd monitor to the ASUS HDMI output and all I got was a message on the 2nd monitor stating "no vidio signal detected" and the control panel on the ASUS was unable to detect a 2nd monitor. Where do I go from here?

Are you sure you have the 2nd monitor connected to HDMI out on this All-In-One desktop? It seems that you may have the HDMI cable connected to the HDMI in instead.

Yes, you can upgrade the memory, the hard drive, and the optical disc drive by removing the back panel of the monitor/desktop. Access to the memory will be under a silver metal shield that you will need to remove to get access to do the SO-DIMM memory slots. The hard drive is a standard 3.5'' desktop hard drive which you will see in the center when you remove the back panel. The DVD drive is a standard notebook DVD drive with a removable bezel so you can remove the drive and install a notebook Blu-ray drive if you'd like and reinstall the removable bezel after installing the Blu-ray drive.

Can this unit be upgraded to 8GB by simply adding 1 - 4GB memory module or do you have to remove 2 - 2GB memory modules and add 2 - 4GB modules?

There are two memory slots in this desktop with both currently being occupied by a 2GB module so you would need to remove both and replace with two 4GB modules to get 8GB.

Question

Does the 2nd monitor need to be connected to the VGA Output or the HDMI output?

My 2nd monitor has a 15 pin "male" plug that will plug into the VGA Output on the ASUS but the HDMI plugs on the back of the ASUS are not marked as IN or OUT. If I need to hook the 2nd monitor to the HDMI, do they make an adapter to go from the 15 pin monitor plug to the HDMI? It would seem like I should be plugging the 2nd monitor into the VGA output on the ASUS but that is what I did and thus got the error messages from both the ASUS and the 2nd monitor. The ASUS said "no 2nd monitor detected" and the 2nd monitor said "no video signal detected".

Thanks for any advice where to go from here.

The VGA port on this desktop is a VGA in so you cannot use VGA as a 2nd monitor. There is an HDMI and an HDMI out so you will need to use the HDMI port to connect to a 2nd monitor.

There's many wireless printers out there. Just depends on which printer you prefer. My preference is a laser printer because it's really fast but the price is something you may look at.

Here is a link of all our wireless printers to get you started. Also you can go to our best buy stores and talk to our reps and see what they suggest as well.
