Question

Will this work in a Dell Latitude D430?

I have a Dell D430 that I can't access the internet with. I had to re-install the windows cd, nothing is on the computer but windows XP and the wireless option to turn on does not work. All I want is to use the laptop to connect to the internet using WiFI.

Have you attempt to go to dell support website to download the drivers for your wireless card? This adapter would definitely work, but if you have a usb memory stick, maybe try to go to a friends house and download the drivers and put them on the stick.

Well, first to actually find the root cause of the issue you have to know three things. Have the drivers been added on the re-imaged machine for the wireless adapter (The Drivers & Utilities CD should contain everything since it is released with all Dell Products)? Please also include the Wireless Interface Card make and model.
Also, where are you trying to receive a wireless signal? If at home, please specify the make and model of the Wireless Access Point (WAP) (Also called a wireless router, Hot Spot, and transmitter)
last, were you able to access WAP's previously before you re-imaged your machine? Please keep in mind that the Dell Latitude D430 standard Wireless Interface Card does NOT support 802.11n.

As long as your computer has a free usb port and you are running a supported operating system, your desktop should be able to use this to connect wirelessly to a wireless router.

Yes, this will be just like your built in wireless, but will be plugged into the usb port instead. You may want to disable your onboard wireless card though, so there is less chance of any hardware interference.

answer 3
Yes, but it will be sticking out from one of your usb slots which can mean it can be easily broken. Have you tried looking for the replacement part the wireless adapters are rarely built into the board but are built as an add on

This adapter should work fine with any wireless router regardless of make or model. If your router supports the B/G, or N wireless standards, the router and adapter should see eachother just fine.

This is not a wireless booster. It is made so a person can connect to a HDTV using a HDMI port on the TV and a usb port on the computer, with out running wires. When connected you can play a game on your computer screen and have the same game showing on the HDTV. You can actually move your mouse at the keyboard by your computer and play the game on the TV as well.

It connect to an HDtv with a HDMI cable, but also has RCA connections as well. Connects just like a DVD player, just change the input on your TV to the connection you are using. Before you buy make sure that your computer is capable of WiDi. Only computers with Intel have this technology. AMD chips will not work with it.
