Question

Does that laptomp has compatibility with NETGEAR - Push2TV HDTV Adapter

Hi, I have asked for another Dell Laptop the same question, and the answers says: "Yes, this and any other laptop with a 2nd Generation Core processor and an Intel wireless adapter will work with the Netgear Push2TV HDTV adapter."

I could see that his Asus has 2nd Gen Intel® Core™ i7-2620M processor, but does it have and Intel wireless adapter that will allow it to wowrk with Netgear Push2TV HDTV.

Thanks

While this computer does not have a discrete graphics card, the UMA video chip while not optimized for gaming is optimized for speed and accuracy with decoding/encoding/editing video using execution engines from the integrated video. You should not have any problems editing HD video with this laptop.

You may a little slow down as this computer does not come with a stand alone video computer, however I use it to edit video and have not had any troubles. I edit using PowerDirector 64bit which is HD capable.

Question

How compatible is this computer with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor2011? In other words, will the 3-D imaging get choppy due to poor graphics?

As an engineering student, it's hard to find a laptop that meshes well with the high graphics and processing demand of CAD software. How compatible would this laptop be with a program like that?

answer 2
You could run Autodesk Inventor but using a system with integrated graphics isn't recommended for these types of applications since a discrete graphics card operating at a higher frequency will allow for faster rendering and modifying of 3D models.

You probably need a more expensive laptop. This computer uses the Intel cpu's graphics. It is about 6X slower than a dedicated video card in the more expensive laptops.

Well older games (2010 and back) should run just fine on low-high (depending on the game). Newer games like crysis 2 will chug and have very low framerates but still possibly playable. Since the core i7 2620m has one of the faster version of the hd 3000gpu it will outperform any of the mobile core i5's in cpu and gaming performance.

Probably not. This uses the Intel CPU's built in graphics capability. It works, but is about 6X slower than a dedicated graphics card in a more expensive laptop.

It depends on the level of gaming you want to do. The newest games with the highest graphical requirements aren't meant to be played on a laptop with UMA graphics, however, most games you will be able to play on this laptop as long as you tweak the game's graphic's settings and details.

The facial recognition is software that uses the webcam to allow you to log-in to the laptop by positioning your face in front of the camera instead of having to type in your username and password. You use the ASUS SmartLogon software that comes with the laptop to set up the facial recognition.
