Third party grips only, no genuine Nikons. However, Best Buy does sell a good one for it (the D3200 isn't listed in its description, but it does work).

Nikon does not produce or manufacture a battery grip for either the Nikon D3100 or D3200. There are aftermarket grips that work well though and use up to 2 batteries. The only caveat is there is a small external cord that connects from the battery grip to the camera to use the vertical battery pack shutter.

Has this actually released?

Every other site is saying the d3200 is only available for preorder. Are these actually in stock at the stores or is this a mistake online?

Question

Will my lenses fit this camera?

I have a Nikon FE camera & I wanted to know if my lenses will be able to be used with the Nikon D3200? I have a few different Nikkor lenses that I would like to use, but I haven't been able to find out if I can use them with digital cameras.

i have a Nikon N70 SLR and the lenses work on my friends Digital camera. it is not a 3200, but it is a Nikon and she has great results with them. i don't see why they wouldn't work with other cameras. i am also in the market for a Digital camera, and would find it useful to also use the lenses. I also am very curious, just wanted to add this to the question.

Zoom is a function of the lens, not the camera.

The included kit lens is not a powered zoom lens, and must be zoomed using a ring on the lens itself. This is usually considered better as it allows the composition to be adjusted more precisely. Some powered zoom lenses are made that are compatible with this camera, but not by Nikon.

The lens will work fine with the camera, but the D3200 will never be available as a body only, only with a lens in a kit. The body only option starts on the D5100 and higher.

I was thinking the same thing the 18-105 (from what I have read) is an awesome DX format lens. However, most of the bloggers say that you need the 18-55 as a good walk around lens. The wide angle is good, and the zoom is good, and the focusing on the D3200 is nice and fast. Not to mention the lens is relatively small. Therefore if I were you I would get the Camera with the Lens kit, and use the 18-55 whenever you need a "Walk Around" Lens.

Nikon WU-1A wireless adapter is compatible with the D3200. The WU-1A wireless adapter enables the camera to wirelessly transfer photos and videos (android only) from the camera to an Android or Apple Inc smart device running Nikon WMU application. You can also received a live feed of what the camera is viewing and control the camera shutter from your apple or android device. The setup instructions and usage information is within the WMU app which can be downloaded for free from your smart device application store: apple app store, or google play store.

Buy the wmu adapter from Best Buy (if available), i bougt mine at target. Plug it into the camera, it will connect to the phone, table and possibly a computer with the connectivity. I LOVE this feature. Set the camrera on a tripod and take pictures from the phone. View the pictures instantly. The app will walk you thru once connection is established.

you cannot use wifi with the Camera. What you can use is a GPS device that attaches to the camera where it allows you to attach a grid coordinate to the picture(s). Thats the closest that it comes to connecting to any signal.

I bought the camera thinking the same thing, but later found that it was wifi capable (if you buy the add on). They have a special slot on the side to plug the adapter into once you buy it. I would also recommend getting a wireless remote.

The D3200 supports Wi-fi with the addition of the optional WU-1A Wi-fi adapter. Using the WU-1A Wi-fi adapter allows you to connect wirelessly to compatible Android and iOS smart devices that are running Nikon's Wireless Mobile Utility (WMU) app.

Best Buy does not ship internationally at this time. International customers can, however, place an order for pickup at one of our U.S. retail stores or for delivery to a U.S. residental address.

Question

Is the Nikon D3200 what I'm looking for? Or should I go with the D5100?

I am a novice photographer although not a "professional" in the aspect of knowing all the in's and out's of proper photography shoots. I shoot mainly in "P" since I tend to be able to control brightness better than in Auto.
I currently have a Canon Rebel xti and have owned it for about 4 1/2 years. But I am wanting something more advanced but still user friendly. I like the HD Video the D3200 offers. But is this going to be something I am looking for over my Rebel? Or do I need to buy the D7000?

Thanks for your help

For a Novice I would jump stright to the D7000. D3200 is designed for the beginner DSLR user. Since you already shoot in an Non-auto mode the D7000 is your clear choice. I do own both, the D7000 as my go-to main camera and the D3200 as a back up body. The only thing I see that the D5100 would offer is the swivel view screen, but then again that's a moving part that will probably break. Fairly user friendly when you buy the better "how-to" guides (several offered on Amazon) other than the supplied user manual. Your options will greatly depend on the amount of money you're willing to spend
